It says

“Mumsnet has not checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. Free legal advice is available from a Citizen's Advice Bureau

This is not strictly true and could lead to disappointment if people call Cit A for legal advice. Volunteer advisers (me!) are not necessarily and probably not legally qualified. We very clearly state to clients that we can provide a wide range of information and advice but cannot give legal advice. An important distinction. If it’s clear that the issue requires legal advice beyond that which we can give we signpost people to a local Law Centre or Clinic, suggest they use legal cover with any insurance policy they have or to the Law Society for a list of local solicitors (as you rightly say in the blurb)

Hello @VanCleefArpels - thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll take a look at the wording. From what we understand, the Citizens Advice can help people obtain legal advice and so this is what we think the intention was here.

Thanks for alerting us to the error, @VanCleefArpels - we've changed it now.
