We can't have scared everyone away yet, surely?!

Did you ever hear back from the breastfeeding chap? You know the one?

Hi all

I've been contacted by Beverley's office to apologise again that she didn't get round to answering all the questions and to clarify that she's Minister for Children within the education department (rather than health) which is why she focused on the education questions most and didn't come back with full answers on breastfeeding. Apparently the person we should be emailing re the Govt policy on breastfeeding is Ivan Lewis (and yes I know his biog says he's in trade and industry, I thought that was odd too, but I'm assured he's now head of breastfeeding)The email on his site is
[email protected]
and there's some info on him herewww.dh.gov.uk/en/AdvanceSearchResult/index.htm?searchTerms=ivan+lewis

I know folks were seriously disappointed by some of the responses, but please, if we're ever to entice anyone back here to face you lot again can stay at least stay civil ?

Shall I see if Mr Lewis wants to come and chat with some friendly mums ?

Thanks

Friendly mums? Have you got some lined up then?

CountessDracula · 24/01/2008 11:13

A man called Ivan is "head of breastfeeding"

hunkermunker · 24/01/2008 11:17

Might be good, CD.

I'd like to see what he's thinking though.

And Jack Newman's a chap, after all.

Well can't promise you Ivan (though can make note to check he's still in the job and put a call in, though think he might suddenly find his diary's very full )

We have Micheal Carrington - creative director of CBeebies on next weds (please put in your diaries now 1-2pm) Thread already open here

and on 4th Feb, one that might fit in with the something on children's books
Susan Reuben is a publisher, editor and an expert on children?s books, inspiring children to read and reading processes. She's just published The Ultimate First Book Guide, which, and I quote "covers everything you might need to help 0?7s with their first steps in reading. Covering board books and novelty books, through to classic and contemporarypicture books, chapter books and more challenging reads. The guide list recommendations from all the
top names in children?s books, each cross-referenced to other titles children are bound to enjoy."

Will take other suggestions to next editorial meeting next month, so keep them coming.

Thanks

I agree with 100x

SaltireOShanter · 24/01/2008 16:14

Ds2 wants to know if you can get Hannah Montana in for a chat! And can you make it after 4pm but before 7pm?

hunkermunker · 24/01/2008 16:18

Do ring Ivan, Carrie, please. Tell him I'm keen to discuss things with him. No doubt my reputation precedes me

The others sound interesting though.
