How do i turn off notifications

I have tried but they keep coming every time someone posts on a thread I'm Watching and this is despite me giving as my preference notifications only if I'm mentioned on a thread or have a private message. Aghhh !

Can we check what device and browser you're using? Preferences should save but can we just check, is it email notifications or the on-site notification tab?

Not that we're aware of...!
What device are you using and is it IOS or android?
Can you uninstall and reinstall the app so that you're running the latest update? Once done, if it still doesn't work then can you talk us through how it's not working?
