Why no paragraphs?

It is making it really frustrating to post......
And really hard to read and follow other peoples posts...............Please bring back paragraphs!
Please add "Bring them Back!" If you agree... it may just be an Apple iOS thing on phone app?

I think I

have paragraphs.

You would know if you didn't as it's so annoying and hard to read.

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2022 22:27

I feel like I'm just in here complaining all the time but today has been a bad experience on here.

Houseplantmad · 12/05/2022 23:15

I've given up tonight. Can't bear not to have paragraphs. Also can't differentiate between quotes and subsequent posts.

It's a shambles...

Justkeeppedaling · 12/05/2022 23:16

Bring them back. Please.

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/05/2022 23:29

I am finding myself increasingly irritated with the fact that at least the last line of each post is missing. It's infuriating.

theculture · 13/05/2022 02:52

It's also messing up the Wordle posts!

WarriorNewAgain · 13/05/2022 07:16

Lack of Paragraphs - doing my head in!

mudgetastic · 13/05/2022 11:02

You can do paragraphs

But it's a pain . It's html code

So less than sign letter p greater than sign

Really twenty years ago that might be ok
But now?

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 13/05/2022 11:19

Hello everyone - just an update that we're working on a fix for this now - we think it's related to some other formatting issues being experienced across the site. In the mean time, please do continue to alert us to any problems you're experiencing - we really appreciate it.

CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:52

So you can do paragraphs like this >p< does that work?

OP posts:
CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:53

Or is it this >p<
Does that work

OP posts:
CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:54

@mudgetastic - neither work for me?
Or am I doing it wrong?

OP posts:
CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:55

Or is it that way

You can tell I'm not a computer programmer....

OP posts:
CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:57

Yes it is the other way

Maths never strong point either

But I may have cracked it....

So type < then p then >

But all together without the thens in it....

OP posts:
CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:58

It is a massive faff to be honest 🙄

OP posts:
FabulousKilljoys · 13/05/2022 13:58

That >p< doesn't work, I've seen it messing up so many posts that I've stopped reading any that have that kind of formatting.

CorsicaDreaming · 13/05/2022 13:59

You do it other way < p >

Without the gaps

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 13/05/2022 13:59

What exactly has been improved? Because all I can see is a lot of problems.

FabulousKilljoys · 13/05/2022 14:06

Yeah I tried it all ways and it doesn't work on mine 🤷🏻‍♀️

NoThanksThough · 13/05/2022 14:20

I have automatic updates turned off on my iPhone and was just about to go through the updates later today, I'll not bother with MN app one as I still have paragraphs with my app. I'll leave it be for now.

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/05/2022 14:21

DaffodillSky · 12/05/2022 21:16

There isn't even a separation between quotes posts and posters responses to those quotes.

This!

Please please separate quote and comment.

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/05/2022 14:21

Well it did so maybe it's me.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 13/05/2022 14:36

If I was at MNHQ I would be absolutely fuming with the developers who have works on this roll out. I can't believe the number of issues and the time it is taking to get any fixed. There can't have been adequate testing before launch of the new update? It's making the app version basically unusable.

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 13/05/2022 15:44

Developers? You mean little Kevin who has a Gcse in computer science? They can't possibly have paid professionals for this shambles could they? 😆
