Ad to get rid of belly fat is now appearing up to four times on each page of some threads that I click on.

I've clicked on the "stop this ad" link, and get a message that they will try to stop showing me it. And imply that it's my own fault for looking at the link a few days ago. It then appears several times each time I read a new thread.

I hope the screenshot works.

Please get rid of this ad.

Yes, really annoying. I get it too, and have tried to get rid, unsuccessfully.

Electriq · 06/05/2022 15:01

Look at some clothing websites ot something and your ads will change, thats all I have after some window shopping online

GreenishTee · 06/05/2022 15:05

Wow, that's one heck of a belly. Please share tips for the 45+ group 😂

Beefcurtains79 · 06/05/2022 17:01

I’ve complained numerous times, it’s gross and weird.

LilyMumsnet · 06/05/2022 18:06

Hi all

Is anyone able to get a link to the advert?
We can find it directly that way, and take a look at what's going on.

We just need the landing URL you get after you click the advert.
You can turn off data/wifi and the link will still load - but it'll block the webpage results.

EmotionalOverEater · 06/05/2022 19:29

Hi Lily

Is this what you need?

Please get rid of this ad.

I get it too and really hate it! I’ve reported it to Google ads twice already

Hi Lily

Is this what you need?

Not this - the URL in the browser bar up top.

Like www.mumsnet.com.

You will need to click directly on the advert to get this - sorry!

EmotionalOverEater · 08/05/2022 08:18

I've sent feedback on this ad in the hope that it will disappear. I've clicked on ads for holidays and travel as I never see ads for clothing. Still it appears relentlessly several times on most pages.

This morning I went to a thread on the weight loss chat topic, and received this ad eight times in one page. Two of the ads were twice their previous size.

IMO this is fat-shaming. It is damaging my fragile mental health and eating disorder.

Please get something done about it if at all possible.

Use an ad-blocker, folks.

Mirrorball2022 · 08/05/2022 08:22

Look what appeared while reading this page….

Please get rid of this ad.
Honaloulou · 08/05/2022 08:24

It’s a really, really awful ad.

EatSleepReplete · 08/05/2022 08:29

I’ve been getting this ad too. Vile. Will try to get a link next time it pops up.

DismantledKing · 08/05/2022 10:21

Just come here to start a thread on this. It’s horrible.

Beefcurtains79 · 08/05/2022 12:55

It’s still appearing, I absolutely hate it.

EatSleepReplete · 12/05/2022 10:21

IDK why that link got split up like that…

KimMumsnet · 12/05/2022 10:27

Good morning, all. Thanks for letting us know about this ad. We're on the case with it as we speak and it should be blocked very shortly.

KimMumsnet · 12/05/2022 10:29

Hi again - we think we've blocked that ad now, so do let us know if you see it again.

Hi again - we think we've blocked that ad now, so do let us know if you see it again.

Thanks - it really is the most peculiarly vile ad.

Fingers crossed it's truly gone.

SpindleInTheWind · 16/05/2022 19:43

And it's back again (on my iPhone).

It's not the weird looking women with the extremely huge bellies, but it's similarly weird looking women with bellies, from the same company.

EmotionalOverEater · 17/05/2022 13:39

Spindle is it entitled How to Build Bikini Body - at my age?

I've been getting these now. And a weird pink version of the original big bellies.

Ugh!

Hi all

We managed to block the previous one because someone kindly provided the URL. Sometimes, adverts use certain tools to get around blocks - which is why we need direct URLS in order to be able to locate and block them.

If you see these adverts again, please could you get us the link as @EatSleepReplete did above? It really is a big help and ensures we can block quickly!

PBJTime · 17/05/2022 16:58

Maybe time to just get rid of the ads or reduce them to the main page not every single thread?

Some of them are pretty offensive.
