Please! Please can you look at renaming the childcare section?

I know we've asked before, and you tweaked it, but it's not working.

Currently on the first page of childcare we have threads about scissors, feeding, avoiding burnout, health questions.... It's ridiculous!

All the while I see questions that should be in the section are found elsewhere, there's a couple in active now.

For me, the childcare section is one of my most used areas, I look regularly to see if I can help with questions or join in with a discussion point. It's getting frustrating now though and I know from previous threads that I'm not alone.

I’ve noticed this although it’s not a board I use. Surely it can just be renamed ‘professional childcare’.

Agreed. Definitely not working.

We need posters to differentiate between PAID childcare and unpaid and currently in this format, it’s not working. This is evident.

Or we could go back to what it was before MN imposed changes, and have sections for preschool and nursery settings, nannies and homebased childcare and childminders.

Yes that wasn't great for those who were deliberating between the three (rationale for changing to one 'childcare' topic) but neither is this, for reasons explained by OP The experiment is failing, and it is time to review it.

I agree. Ideally you want three boards for the three main types of paid childcare - nurseries, nannies and childminders, since the latter two are so often confused. But if you’re really trying to cut it down to two then nurseries and nannies/childminders would work well.

I think proffesional childcare should be together....why seperate nursery as if its a different option not an alternative? Then baby sitters, au pairs and short term care.

Two years on and still it does not work being called just Childcare.

This I don't get why childminders are in a general childcare bit and nurseries have their own section....as we all work to same standards and take funding we can offer advice on the same things
