The quote of a quote of a quote ad infinitum

It's going to get horrendous. It was bad enough when someone would quote the whole of a very long OP and just add a one line response.

Apart from that, a quote of a single post was fine - we all knew how to pick bits out and bold them if we wanted to reply to a specific point.

Please get rid of the function, it adds absolutely nothing apart from making a thread harder to read. It'll end up where a quote of a quote...of a quote takes up a whole page.

I don't mind most of the changes to the site and it's working fine for me, but this nesting quotes thing I'm not keen on at all. I struggle with it on Reddit and liked that it wasn't a function on here. I suppose time will tell whether it works or if it makes threads really clunky.

What I would've liked is the ability to quote part of a post instead of doing the bolding thing, though I appreciate that might be difficult from a technical perspective.

The unless quote nonsense is like Reddit and I absolutely hate it. I'm with you.

Totally agree.

*Useless, not unless. FGS.

We still don't have an edit feature? 😐

Posted on another thread but probably belongs here.

I'm on an Australian mum's forum and they have this neat system that collapses long and nested quotes. Maybe MN can do something similar?
