The quick poll on misogyny being hate crime

First, thanks for delivering an actual quick poll. It did only take two seconds.

Second, why wasn’t there an optional comments section?

It felt far too stark, no nuance or rationale being asked, and I’d hate for my No vote to support anything statistically in terms of how Mumsnet moves forward, whether within the site, or without.

I voted No because I’d do away with all Hate Crime legislation. I do believe Misogyny is a Hate Crime, as other Hate Crimes are defined.

Does anyone else think that the poll wasn’t fit for purpose?

We take your point about the nuances and complexities of issues like this and rest assured this isn’t the only way we’re going to gauge opinion - it’s a way we can do a quick temperature check on specific and topical issues.
