MNHQ,

We are all begging for an edit button for our posts on a regular basis. Is there a reason why we can't have one?

@DramaAlpaca

I don't think we are 'all begging for an edit button' at all Confused

That's what the Preview feature is for, to edit before you post.

It's been discussed so many times before and the answer has always been 'no', so there's no reason to expect MNHQ to change their minds this time.

Just post it and own it.

This. An edit button is unnecessary; just proof read.

Please don't introduce an edit button.

People need to stand by what they say.

Those who only 'see' typos after they've pressed 'post' can use the 'preview' function to make their final check.

@Houseofvelour

MNHQ is there a reason why you're replying to other threads but not this one?
Hi @Houseofvelour It's the weekend - we've got moderators working but the techy lot are out enjoying the sunshine. We'll respond further as soon as they've settled back into virtual MNHQ.

See this post is a perfect example of why an edit button would be helpful. grin
Or, I could have used the preview button, realised the bold was wrong and changed it. But I didn’t, because I’m not striving for absolute perfection on a random forum.

If anything it should spell out the need for a quote function when the comment you’re replying to has already used the quote function, therefore I wouldn’t have needed to copy and paste the part I wanted.

I’d like an edit function, time limited and not once there has been a reply. It could stop derail for example if someone realises they have used female not woman. Another post correcting will often not be picked up and the OP issue lost.
