Webchat idea - The Editor of The Archers? Or another Archers production team representative

Following up on a suggestion from @MayIDestroyYou, would it be possible to set up a webchat with the Editor of The Archers, or another member of The Archers production team? I don't know if this has ever been done before, but we have a substantial number of Archers listeners contributing to our long-running series of threads over on Radio Addicts, and I suspect MN also harbours many lurkers or people allergic to long threads who don't contribute to our threads, but do listen, and might want to ask questions about the direction of the show. We're generally polite, if forthright. Grin

Thanks!

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g.

Hi @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g thanks for this suggestion which we'll certainly pass on. Flowers

I am impressed with Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g's new thread title and excellent connections to the Mumsnet team!

We had a frost last night (Somerset) and it is a mighty 10 degrees despite the sun. Not even somebody as daft as CMR would consider an outdoor life drawing event on a bank holiday weekend. Surely Lizzie would be worried about all the visiting families wandering off..... unprofessional doesn't come close. What would Bernard say (or has he been locked away in the treehouse in that ancient woodland that hadn't existed before this month)?

I think I'm going to pay more attention to who is writing each week as it really doesn't sound as if I should bother to catch last night's episode.

Thanks, @soniamumsnet! I won't hold my breath, as the BBC can be very defensive. They probably prefer to go to fan groups like Archers Addicts (does that still exist?) where they may get an easier ride.

Excellent, GaspOde! Surely, if they glance towards the 127 Archers' threads, the BBC might consider us worthy of notice?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/04/2021 14:13

Thanks Gasp0de and @soniamumsnet!

nettie434 · 29/04/2021 14:42

Thanks from me to to Gasp0de and Soniamumsnet. It would be a great idea. I won't hold my breath as The Archers editorial team don't even seem to appear on the BBC's Feedback programme.

impostersyndrome · 29/04/2021 14:59

Great idea. I'm not holding my breath either, from my experience as a regular listen to Feedback, where the standard response is either unavailability of a spokesman [sic], or complete dismissal of the listener as beneath contempt.

Should we assume the invitation email has been sent?

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 18/05/2021 16:42

David says he's far too busy with the farm. Joy seems keen, however.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/05/2021 19:02

Oh, I love Joy, @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet!

Madcats · 19/05/2021 12:32

Oh yes, I'd much rather hear from Joy. David is always moaning!
