using Opera on a desktop PC and I can no longer bookmark posts. If I click the bookmark link I get taken to the top of the page.

Same here on both Safari and Chrome.

MNHQ posted on another thread that they're looking into this issue right now!

Same on my iPad. Thought I was pressing in the wrong area, but every time the page shoots back up to the top.

Hi - thanks for all the reports - we're taking a look into this now and will post updates on this thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/4221545-unable-to-bookmark-posts-hide-threads?pg=2 Flowers

Whatever the issue is also seems to have broken the page function, your link only works if you manually delete the page suffix off the end of it.

Link works fine for me-goes to pg2 whereas your link goes to pg1

Same problem here, laptop and Bing.

It will only work if you have your settings to show a number of posts per page that means you'll have at least the number of pages at the end of the link.

i.e. I have my settings to show 100 posts per page so when I click the link with page 2 at the end of it I get a broken link because there are fewer than 100 posts on the thread at the moment - so for me there is no page 2.

Sorry, was misreading as link not workingBlush

BIWI · 28/04/2021 10:44

Nope. That link for me also goes to the 'whoops' error page. Have to delete the flowers emoji and the page number to get it to work.

DumplingsAndStew · 28/04/2021 11:33

When someone posts a link containing a page number, it assumes every user has the same settings in place. If a user has their settings to show all posts on one page (as I do), following a link that says ?pg=2 will not work as, as far as my settings are concerned, there is no page 2.

There must be a way to rectify this that a link will default to a user's settings when clicked, as it isn't a problem on other platforms, but I expect it to be way out of the reach of Mumsnet's tech team.

BertieBotts · 28/04/2021 11:53

It never used to be a problem, if you didn't have the required number of pages it would just ignore that completely and take you to page 1. I've had 100 posts per page for years and it's never been an issue before.

It's only been a problem since the bookmarks function randomly broke.

DumplingsAndStew · 28/04/2021 12:33

Recently? It's been an issue for months and months, possibly years.
