OP posts:

This is infuriating. I know we used to manage without, but it's making the site unusable for me.

CarlaH · 28/04/2021 09:48

Glad to see I am not the only one not able to use the bookmark facility.

I too am taken to the top of the page.

I'm using Firefox on a desktop pc Windows 7.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/04/2021 09:56

So, MN is this likely to be fixed today? It does make the site awful to use.

Oh well, I guess at least I'll get other stuff done today!

wandawaves · 28/04/2021 09:58

I didn't even know bookmarking was a thing lol, though I haven't been on mumsnet long.
But what is not working for me is when you want to "see next" or "see all" from the OP. I click it and nothing happens.

I'm seriously struggling to see how it can possibly take so long to fix this issue and the problem of see next/all not working.

It's a job that should take no time at all and yet despite the OP raising the problem on the 16th its still not fixed. How can it take almost 2 weeks and still not be resolved?

soniamumsnet · 28/04/2021 10:13

Hi - thanks for all the reports. Just to let you know that we are aware of the issue and a fix should be released soon.

Thanks for your patience. Flowers

saraclara · 28/04/2021 10:13

I've said it before, but MN is the most seriously clunky and glitchy forum that I've come across. It's positively antiquated. I'm amazed that it hasn't been revamped.

I've seen posters say that they like it the way it is, for its simplicity. I actually disagree that it's simple to use, but a simple appearance can be maintained while moving to a platform that actually works reliably.

Soon?

Could we please have a little more clarity on this? Soon could mean anything from within the next hour or 2, or a few days from now.

Laggartha · 28/04/2021 10:20

I agree @saraclara, posters will always resist change but eventually the "software" behind a forum becomes obsolete and your hand is forced.

I have to agree. I think many only stick around and tolerate it because there's not much more choice out there for discussion. I also feel like they have been updating their legacy software for years.
mackerella · 28/04/2021 10:55

Yep, still jumping to the top of the thread when I try to bookmark a post (Chrome on a Windows 10 laptop). Apart from the time that it added the thread to "threads I'm watching" instead Hmm.

Just to say that, in general I really like the way MN works and appreciate the simplicity (no tickers, no up-voting or reactions, no threading). But the continued bugginess is really tiresome!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/04/2021 11:15

Yes I like the simplicity but I get the sense that under the surface, the software is creaking like an old galleon that has been patched up over the centuries!

I am also having the same issue with “see next” and “see all”.
Timestablesaretables · 28/04/2021 11:27

Oh good, I thought it was me. V irritating to not be able to even click anything.

Me too, exactly the same. It's sooo frustrating, everything is jumping me to the top of the page.
Chisandbiscuits · 28/04/2021 11:36

Same here too. Jumping to the top of the thread when I try to bookmark, it's driving me bonkers. I am using Chrome on my laptop.

Levrierssontmeilleurs · 28/04/2021 11:44

I think it might be fixed ?

DeepNorthFarmGardening · 28/04/2021 11:51

I think it's working again....

I think so too.
C8H10N4O2 · 28/04/2021 11:57

Same problem here on Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Vivaldi. If I hover to bookmark with any of them it gives me the thread URL with a # on the end instead of the actual post number.

Still not working for me.

bloodywhitecat · 28/04/2021 12:03

Mine is working now I have cleared cookies.

soniamumsnet · 28/04/2021 12:15
