Theres probably only me who is horribly needle phobic but just clicking on MN this morning has brought me out in a cold sweat and palpitations

(seriously not joking though)

I'd be sooooo grateful if you could get rid of it.

Pretty please.

i can't see the pic

rantinghousewife · 09/11/2007 11:06

No I can't either!

NomDePlumeOfBonfireSmoke · 09/11/2007 11:07

All I can see is a jolly sunny pic from P&O that makes me want to go on holiday and an ad bu Open University urging me to 'better myself'

MissusH · 09/11/2007 11:16

I can see it - you're not going mad Nbg.....

Flame · 09/11/2007 11:20

Eww tis nasty!!! Make it go away please!!!

rantinghousewife · 09/11/2007 11:21

Oh yes, looking in the wrong place.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/11/2007 11:22

I can't see it ...

NomDePlume · 09/11/2007 11:24

Oooooh, on the homepage homepage not the active convo homepage. I'm with you now.

I never see the homepage, tbh. I have active convos saved as a favourite so I always come directly here. Can't you just avoid the homepage ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/11/2007 11:28

what ? that's not scary ! (and I faint usually with blood tests)

colditz · 09/11/2007 11:31

Another vote against the needle, I have put 'talk' on my favourites list so I don't have to look at it

Nbg · 09/11/2007 11:50

actually colditz thats a good idea.
Will do that for now.

I hate the NOrwich Union one

a poor woman died here a while ago when she hit a cow on the road. she was a mum etc etc

can't help feeling the ad is horrible

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/11/2007 12:00

out of interest, being a needle phobic - is it really that bad for you, just seeing a photo of a needle ? Didn't intend to belittle your fears Nbg - I'm not keen,as I mentioned ,on blood tests and ds has one every year which he gets completely hysterical about - but I can look at a needle quite dispassionately -excedt maybe a very big one ! - it's just the blood that causes me to pass out.

Nbg · 09/11/2007 14:10

I've mentioned it a few times on here MAS. I have a phobia about anything medical at all.
So much so thats I'm having a homebirth in 3 weeks time and have had all my antenatal appts at home too.
My dh has to take the kids to the dr's/hospital etc.

It all started last year through me passing out after having my bloods done and then having a bit of a light headed moment when I was at home on my own.

But seeing things and talking about it makes me feel awful.
Bizarre how typing it down isnt all that bad.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/11/2007 15:52

oh poor you - must be awful. Strangely enough I've just had an email from my brother who had a blood test yesterday and ended up horizontal - he also fainted after his flu injection. I had a minor op some months ago and fainted afterwards simply because the doc commented that the wound was 'oozing' - eeew.

Tortington · 09/11/2007 15:53

why dont you go straight to

www.mumsnet.com/Talk

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/11/2007 15:53

sorry about writing anything that might make you feel funny

Nbg · 09/11/2007 15:55

yeah that did make me feel a bit grim lol.

I find descriptions and words make me go funny- at one time I considered becoming a medical illustrator which would have been ridiculous !

NomDePlume · 09/11/2007 15:56

Am I right in thinking that were thinking of doing midwifery not so long ago, nbg ? that this phobia will put the kybosh on that one

NomDePlume · 09/11/2007 15:57

sorry, should've been 'you were thinking'

Nbg · 09/11/2007 15:59

Yes I was. I had all the forms and things to apply and then I found out I was pg with ds a week later!

The thoughts of it now are laughable.

Its ok though because my jewellery making will become a huge success and I will be rich beyond my wildest dreams
