Why am I logged in even though I am on ds user? If anyone goes to the mumsnet website from my pc, it will be logged in and they can see all my posts, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'm not really the technical type either, I am guessing you clicked on the "remember me" button
when you logged on. If you want to log in every time you access MN (e.g. so your DS can't post as you or see the threads you're on) then go to log in and unselect the "remember me" function

Hi TE, if you are concerned about privacy, just click "log out". Any time you log out it logs you out and clears your "remember me" so you don't get remembered any more.

When you say your are on ds user, i presume you mean you are logged into windows itself on your son's account? Windows does keep the "cookies" for users separate so one of two things must have happened:

  1. You've posted a message since you started looking at MN "as ds". Posting a message logs you in until you close your internet explorer - in that case, if you close down IE and go back in you won't be logged in any more. or
  2. You may have (possibly inadvertently) done a "remember me" since starting looking at mn.

In either case, clicking "log out" will fix it.
