Somtimes this site is like a giant jacuzzi filled with pure oestrogen

...and tonight is an example. Can you imagine a man-centric site displaying such excitement, joy, fear and disapproval because someone reformatted its talkboard?

BTW, I'm not saying that the oestrogen-jacuzzi vibe is a bad thing.

I've changed mine back to MN classic. Call me a grumpy old sow (yeah I know, bring it on), but when I tried to flip so that the most recent message was at the top of the screen, it wouldn't play ball.

I can cope with the newness ... but I can't cope with trawling through the pages.

But did I complain?

Nah

Twitsthatgobumpinthenight · 25/10/2007 20:01

but you can do that, you can set it so it is permanently flipped.
grumpy old sow silly sausage.

SeaShells · 25/10/2007 20:01

It's changed sooo much since I joined up, I remember the days before we even had the sceptical face smiley and everything was just so simple!

TheEvilDediderata · 25/10/2007 20:07

Well, I no longer need to worry about 'flipping'. I am back to normal.

daft --old- twit lovely woman

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 25/10/2007 20:07

I don't like customise with a z. It's just plain wrong.

[fussy old bint emoticon]

TheEvilDediderata · 25/10/2007 20:09

I don't particularly like it either, which is why I checked.

I assumed that the 'Z' was an Americanism. Not so. It says so in the OED, so it must be right!

If you look back to old English texts, it was littered with 'Z's'.

Anyone studying old English text would probably agree .... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

pointydog · 25/10/2007 20:10

You are so right, wonks.

You are so absolutely right.

And so many others are plain Wrong

TheEvilDediderata · 25/10/2007 20:11
Wisteria · 25/10/2007 20:16

OED does everything with a z, 'tis why I prefer Chambers, at least it gives you a choice...

anal tart fussy madam

Wisteria · 25/10/2007 20:16

hi desi xx

pointydog · 25/10/2007 20:16

Which do was that? The swinging thread? Or when you were pounced on by a fast-attacking munter?

TheEvilDediderata · 25/10/2007 20:19

Hi, Wisty

Yes, Pointy, the swifto-munter. How fecking bizarre.

But hey ho! Dh has just produced a home-made shepherd's pie, so needs must .....

Twitsthatgobumpinthenight · 25/10/2007 20:23

what the feck dickens is a munter. I too thought it looked wrong with z's.

nappyaddict · 25/10/2007 20:30

flip doesn't work for me either. how can i do it so it is permanently flipped?

Yvaine · 25/10/2007 20:33

It's gorgeous. And even it it wasnt, it can be sorted.

I wonder how some people can afford the time to get their knickers in a twist about such trivialities

TheDucHearseOfCorpseBride · 25/10/2007 20:36

LOL at fast-attacking munter and swifto-munter. What did I miss last night? I'm not here much lately and it's amazing how quick you lose touch.

policywonk · 25/10/2007 20:39

Yes, what munter. The last thing I saw, Desi was talking about The Jerk (I think).

WideWebWitch · 25/10/2007 20:41

Oh NO! What is this "Page 1 of 3" business?????!!!!

Twitsthatgobumpinthenight · 25/10/2007 20:44

Still don't know what a munter is.

pointydog · 25/10/2007 20:45

Des was actually being very reasonable, and I'd even go so far as to say she sounded quite intelligent and caring.

Then in flew winky, lobbing grenades and bad-mouthing des.

T'was funny. When you think of all the times someone could justifiably flame des...

pointydog · 25/10/2007 20:47

I have actually stopped usiong munter because it keeps gettin gme into trouble.

A munter is a highly amusing term for a mnetter. (Not my creation)

However, it also means ugly auld boot. Which I didn't realise till recently.
