if you are concerned about the immediate wellbeing of a poster how do you flag that up to mumsnet? I am anxious about reporting the post as I am not sure how that works and if the person will get told that? I don't want to upset anyone that is vulnerable or scare them away from getting advice here. Can you report your own reply to the op as a way of flagging it up without them seeing it?

Thanks v much c

Hit report, and flag it up to MN. Poster won't see it, and won't know who has flagged it if MN take it further.

Thanks so much. will do. she is getting good advice but I just want mumsnet to keep a little eye on it too. I think she has done the right thing posting her. Mumsnet can be such a good thing. xx

It can be brilliant, and there are many posters in need who get good advice and support. But a word of warning that trolls are very good at coming up with sob stories and pulling people in, so just beware not to get too invested in any posts / posters as there is always a chance they could be fake

(I have no idea which poster you’re on about btw, this is just generally)

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 13/12/2020 15:04

Yes. I think it's better to flag if you have concerns x

Bluntness100 · 13/12/2020 15:05

I don’t think mnhq can do anything other than post links to support services.

satnighttakeaway · 13/12/2020 15:05

You should have posted this under a different name, it's now obvious that you reported the poster as you've only posted on one other thread

MrsMigginsMate · 13/12/2020 15:08

I asked MN to at least post links to support services for a vulnerable poster who was being ripped to shreds and MN told me the thread posters would guide her and they would prefer to leave it up to us. Confused. Not really adequate IMO.

Tenyearsgone · 13/12/2020 15:11

Don't get invested. MN gets trolled a lot, the most MNHQ can do is direct the poster to RL help if necessary ,which is all any of us should do.

DramaAlpaca · 13/12/2020 15:15

Agree don't let yourself get invested. You can have no idea of the truth of the tale and neither can MNHQ. What I do if I have concerns is report to MNHQ and ask them to keep an eye on the thread. They'll post their usual links to appropriate help. It's all anyone can do really.

Hi OP

Please do report any concerns to us - we're always happy to take a look and post links where needed. Flowers

socksmcgraw · 13/12/2020 23:59

Thank you Lily I did and then realised someone from mumsnet had replied as it had already been flagged up by someone elseIt is reassuring to see that had happened. Thanks for your kind response
