What is with this disgusting advert that keeps popping up, complete with nasty unpleasant images?! Certainly doesn’t entice me to buy the product, and is going to make me close mumsnet completely for the night!

Hi OP

Can we have a screenshot of the ad, and can you let us know what device and browser you're using?

30mph · 03/11/2020 21:23

ipad, safari, can't screenshot at the moment

Yuck I have it too. It’s grim. It’s for tonsil stones.

Hi all
We really need to see it to know for sure, but it sounds like an ad choices advert. If so, there will be a little blue triangle somewhere. Click this and you can update your settings on ads you don't want to see. Flowers

I think it was for something called 'ProB'
Also, this page is bugging up with multiple replies, sorry!

Hi OP

Can you see the little blue triangle? If so, click it - you'll be able to block the ad.

cardswapping · 04/11/2020 09:46

I must have blocked that ad a zillion times yesterday. It kept coming back. Hoping google ads update over a 12 hour cycle.

Misomisophonia · 04/11/2020 10:37

I get the tonsil stones, earwax softeners/drops and earplugs all the time. I’ve tried clicking on them to say stop seeing ads like this but doesn’t seem to work. I think I get them when I go on FB too. It must be done sort of algorithm. I thought it was because I’m over 50.

Byllis · 04/11/2020 12:31

I get the utterly disgusting tonsil stones ad all the time and have done for ages now. Well under 50, btw. Have tried to opt out in ad preferences - worked for a while, but it's back with a vengeance.

I'm also baffled by the thought that this could be a way to entice people to buy a product, but then it does grab your attention!

@FeedTheVoodooLilyMumsnet here is the ad if it's still needed
