MNHQ/Tech - when do we get our 'Christmas' topic and while you're at it you'd better do a 'no Xmas' button for those who are bound to moan?

I was thinking about this the other day am sure it appeared in October last year

AbbyMumsnet · 19/09/2007 10:00

Not sure when this is coming... bit early just yet, non?

whomovedmychocolate · 19/09/2007 10:03

Do we have to - can we also have a Campaign Against Festivals which involve inlaws section too then?

Is nothing sacred? That's a question, btw.

SlightlyMadSweden · 19/09/2007 10:55

Jenkeywoo · 19/09/2007 10:58

I started my xmas shopping yesterday - loads of bargains to be had in Woolworths! I was on MN last year so am looking forward to a xmas topic and maybe some special xmas smilies?

Budababe · 19/09/2007 10:59

you can have your Christmas thread at Christmas

honestly

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/09/2007 11:03

Budababe....how about we just spam the board with Christmas threads....? THat'll learn them

Budababe · 19/09/2007 11:20

Good thinking VVV!

Of course they could just do it now and then get the man in the shed to do a "no xmas" button and then I everyone is happy. And you of course and who else counts??!!

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/09/2007 13:10

EXACTLY!!!!

Twiglett · 19/09/2007 13:12

Tech can you create a do-hickey so that every time anyone mentions Christmas before the actual commencement of the Yuletide they get an electric shock for being so gauche

can you?

can you huh?

Budababe · 19/09/2007 13:12

No he can't - he is busy making a "no xmas" topic - leave him alone!

OP posts:
Budababe · 19/09/2007 13:13

'no xmas' button for the Xmas topic that should read!

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/09/2007 13:20

Twiglett

Also, whilst doing the Christmas topic Tech, can you make it so that when you click on a Christmas Topic thread, music automatically plays - such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night or We Wish You A Merry Christmas?

That'd be lovely. Thanks

Budababe · 19/09/2007 13:34

And Tech - while you are at it (well not at "it" obv!) can you re-name the site XmasNet? Thanks!

OP posts:
Nbg · 19/09/2007 13:36

But where will we discuss our xmas bargains and what to look out for?

RustyBear · 19/09/2007 13:43

You can get Yule logs in Tesco's right now - sell by date 10th October.
Maybe Christmas is earlier than we think....

HuwEdwards · 19/09/2007 13:48

While you're at it SuperTech, please can you do some whizzy tech stuff that means if we start a thread in the Xmas section, a (special calorie-free) mince pie and a sherry is squeezed out of the users keyboard - and eveyone else's who posts on said thread.

You've got a week - get back to me.

sparkler · 19/09/2007 13:53

Oh and wouldn't some lovely Christmassy smilies be good too! We did have a Santa hat one last year didn't we??

Nbg · 19/09/2007 13:56

I thought you could put a little santa hat on the M for Mumsnet

Budababe · 19/09/2007 14:10

Tech? Tech?

Was that Tech running away?

OP posts:
oxidisedteddy · 19/09/2007 20:36

Isn't Tech working on the Halloween smilies atm?
