Presume a TAAT is OK in Site Stuff?

What are the criteria you use when permanently banning posters?

Thank you in advance. I am really shocked by this particular poster being banned.

Solidarity with Langcleg

I'm here to register my disgust at Lung's ban. She was a visitor to Thighland and much respected by us. Why is MN kowtowing to abusive, nasty TRA's now? Please note I'm specifying abusive, nasty TRA's, not all trans people. I'm sure there will be trans people out there who would also be disgusted at this treatment.

Really angry at Lang's banning. Seriously MN? Seriously?

@MNHQ I'm really disappointed you haven't been back to respond on the permanent ban vs temporary suspension question, and how that is decided, what the criteria and pathway is.

I've been hoping there is a discussion going on behind the scenes and then there will be a statement, and not just "ignore until it goes away". Fingers crossed for a considered outcome.

I think there are quite a few of us who know that MN moderation is inconsistent and dubious. As are their reasons for deleting and banning. Ditto their email responses when we ask questions. If challenged due to their inconsistency or lack of rationality they lie, gaslight and obfuscate. In my experience langcleg was never, ever, rude aggressive or deliberately argumentative. Quite the opposite. But MN will try to malign and disrepute her to justify their decision to ban her. Well done MN, go well.

Bump

We’ll be introducing a three strikes system whereby users deleted more than three times in any rolling six week period will have their membership automatically suspended and we’ll then take a view as to whether they will have membership reinstated.

I went back to re-read the principles of moderation as there’s been no further response on temporary suspension vs permanent ban.

I appreciate Justine has clarified elsewhere that they believe LangCleg violated point 5 - persistent rudeness or aggression to the moderating team.

This does clearly state that MNHQ will “take a view” so I guess there are no hard and fast rules or pathways in whether it is permanent or temporary. This seems flawed to me.

On another note, I’d love to know how the ‘threads I’m on’ metric works as this ‘thread I’m on’ is not showing up there despite today’s posts from others. I assume as soon as I hit post here it will be back but seems odd for a Site Stuff post I started to drop away.
