I think MNHQ need to get rid of free B&S or get rid of the charge for Small businesses and combine the two.

Haven't got any problem with people who want to buy and sell, it's just that being in Oz it's not relevant and the buying and selling posts do take up a huge amount of active conversations during our day time, whilst you are all sleeping.
I have got cookies enabled for mumsnet and still the tick disappears.

Swap shop needs sorting too IMO.
People using that to sell.

I use buy and sell but post all over. Would be better though to either seperate it, or do something to stop those that only use the site for buying/selling.
Just not sure it's that easy to do?

May I just ask if people know whether the selling bit is for non profit making stuff?

I know it says that it is for use/unwanted items. If people are selling on for profit is that not allowed?

I like b+s but mainly because I can buy bundles oof clothes for the dc cheaper than on ebay!! I do also sell our tat on there..I mean good quality stuff!! I use ebay if I have new stuff.I dont agree with people who are on there using it sell stuff they could sell on ebay and pay fees. I tend tp put stuff on here cheaper than I would ebay so that everyone saves.

And I saw one in the wanted section the other "wanted good home for ...." when it was just another person trying to flog stuff. It's all got out of hand.

If you go to active conversations and tick no buying and selling then add it to my favourites does it not automatically take you to that page again (updated obviously). I go to active convos through my faves and never see B+S

We are working on (or rather Tech's almost ready to start work on) allowing you tocustomise MN Talk to suit your personal wants/needs/desires etc. So in effect you'll be able to block any and all sections you don't wish to see and do a few other bits and bobs that people have requested over time too. Not sure quite when our due date for this is (Tech's gestation periods are notoriously tricky to predict) but I'm confident we're talking weeks not months.
