Mumsnet site problems

We’ve had some hardware issues in our server centre, so the site has been struggling this morning.

We’re getting things back to normal and you should now be able to read threads and make posts.

You might find that some images are missing — we’ll be restoring these over the next few hours so please bear with us.

Apologies once again.
We've got team's working on it at the mo. The app is working, but still big problems everywhere else.

The app is working ok. But it's a long job putting the fixes in place everywhere else.
In case you haven't seen updates...
A critical server has failed and the site is struggling. Might take a couple of hours to get everything sorted. Apologies again.

We’re sorry about the interruptions on the site today, and thanks for all your feedback. Most things should be back to normal now (or at least, more normal than the last time we said that).

We have a couple of outstanding issues with Advanced Search and 'recently uploaded images', which we’re still working on. But generally, most things should be fixed.
Phew.
And thanks again for bearing with us.

Thanks again for letting us know what's working and what's not. We're still working on getting everything back to normal.
We're deleting the duplicate posts - but please do report them when you see them - it's a big help.

Hi,

Just posting to help throw some light on recent issues.

One of the servers that is needed for the site to run had a hardware fault which took a few hours to identify, involving a switch in the backup server.

Because of this fault, some users found themselves logged out. Everyone's data is secure so there's no need to worry.

This was also the cause for duplicate posts and messages; the server wasn't working well so wrongly told some posters that their message hadn't been posted, when it had in fact gone through OK.

One last thing, search is currently disabled on the app while these issues get resolved and we'll keep you posted when we know more on this.
