Can we have a Vegetarian topic please?

I've been searching for a vegetarian topic area after going veggie last week. It would be lovely if we could have somewhere for recipe sharing and product inspiration.

I see we have a vegan topic so could post there but 1. I'm not a vegan yet and 2. I don't want to upset the vegans by asking for recipes that include eggs or dairy.

Thank you :)

separate veggie topic for me please.

gggrrrargh · 27/04/2019 16:08

Yes please from me too, I’m a vegetarian who sometimes eats chocolate for dinner so need all the help I can get!

CoffeeTable · 27/04/2019 16:13

Yes I'd like to see the Vegetarians get their own topic. The poor souls have been eating mushroom stroganoff for years (the one token veggie item on the menu). Suddenly being vegan is cool, and high street restaurants are dedicating whole menus to them!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/04/2019 16:21

Yes please!

Onatreebyariver · 27/04/2019 16:27

Yes i'd like a veggie topic please!

cushioncovers · 27/04/2019 16:41

Definitely have a separate one to the existing vegan one. They are two different diets/ethos.

bagpiss · 27/04/2019 16:47

I'd like it too.
I've been veggie since I was much younger but Coffeetable, that made me lol as you're so right!

ballooningmum · 27/04/2019 17:20

Yes please!

TheABC · 27/04/2019 17:34

Another one here. I want to really cut down on meat (flexitarian?) and get tips without upsetting anyone. Especially as I have two young kids who dislike anything "green!".

spongedog · 27/04/2019 17:56

Coffeetable you are bang on the money with that. But dont forget the obligatory pasta meal for Christmas!

Whippet75 · 27/04/2019 18:14

Great idea, yes please.

TrixieFranklin · 27/04/2019 18:21

Another yes please here!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/04/2019 18:24

Definitely needs to be separate to vegan. I'm happy to eat vegan but I also want to eat cheese etc sometimes and really cba to argue about that decision.

cricketmum84 · 27/04/2019 18:41

@spongedog and the people who offer fish as a vegetarian meal!

"Here I've cooked some salmon pasta for the veggies" Hmm

spongedog · 27/04/2019 18:43

Yup cricketmum84 - remember that too!

But yes to wanting to be able to discuss cheese and egg without having the big conversation on food choices.

hazeyjane · 27/04/2019 18:46

Yes please!

Dd1 and I are veggie....some new veggie recipes we could do would be great

hazeyjane · 27/04/2019 18:51

Or we could change the vegan topic so it's a vegetarian/vegan topic instead?

I'd quite like it to be separate. I could do without 'cow milk pus' comments!

Frouby · 27/04/2019 18:54

I'd like a veggie section too please. Dd is veggie, and we try and have a few meat free days a week as a family. But eat a lot of eggs as have our own chickens and I love cheese too.

FlissMumsnet · 27/04/2019 22:19

Thanks to everyone who's posted - there's obviously a fair amount of interest in this. We'll definitely give this some thought and see what can be done.
