Just in case anyone's interested I did this Secret Leaders podcast about Mumsnet's journey - how we started and some of the ups and downs along the way. It's quite long (38 minutes) so no judgement if you don’t make it all the way to the end! player.fm/series/secret-leaders/justine-roberts-creating-mumsnet-and-saving-parents-lives

I'll listen to that as a lunchtime treat!

Do you admit that you're Maui bride and AT THE SAME TIME the Actual Elderly Korean Lady?

I hope so.

paisho · 08/03/2019 10:48

Perfect timing - was just searching for some listening material for tonight's midnight stroll. Thanks! Grin

Sadly not. My multiple personalities were so dull by comparison...

@BIWI I've had a quick Google and can't find anything about Christmas 2008.
You can't just leave that hanging there. Do tell...

LadyRochfordsSpangledGusset · 08/03/2019 11:26

Rhymes with foldies, boldies erm ...

BIWI · 08/03/2019 11:27

Sorry @JustineMumsnet! Grin

BIWI · 08/03/2019 11:36

Being more serious, there are so many fantastic things that have been a part of Mumsnet, from saving people's lives, to Secret Santa (in the early days), through to being part of the general elections, and all the great people who have come to do web chats here.

TanteRose · 08/03/2019 13:04

Ooh will definitely listen to that!

HollowTalk · 08/03/2019 13:09

Thanks, Justine, will definitely listen to this.

Mentounasc · 08/03/2019 13:44

I just tried to play it, says it won't work because the page is offline. Is that the case for everybody, or just for me because I'm not in the UK? Or do you have to sign in (which I'm unlikely to do)?

Can you get it from here?

PortiaCastis · 08/03/2019 16:01

Sounds good but will it tell me what was in that safe and how is the dh who ate the fatball?

Wigeon · 09/03/2019 10:06

Really interesting, thanks for posting. Were you in a very large empty underground car park or warehouse?

AdoraBell · 09/03/2019 10:26

I’ll listen a bit later.

MrsMcGarry · 09/03/2019 12:34

Hmm. Do you credit the mumsnetters who donated money back in the very early days when you were claiming poverty?

TheMuminator2 · 09/03/2019 13:16

ooooh what happened at xmas 2008? very curious now

Startoftheyear2019 · 09/03/2019 18:13

Brilliant podcast, thanks for sharing.

Wigeon · 09/03/2019 22:00

@MrsMcGarry - yes she does. Why not listen to the podcast - interesting interview.

TanteRose · 10/03/2019 04:03

Just listened! It was really good Smile

Ah yes! The Good Old Days. I joined in 2003. I've forgotten a lot since RL got very rough as of 2011.

Er no - in the office actually. But it can be quite noisy outside Smile.

I'm not sure I'm ready to go back there tbh Grin. Suffice to say a group of very excellent MNetters set up another chat room which was closed and invite-only and it caused a lot of stress all round (particularly for those not invited). And it all happened just before Christmas which meant many families were somewhat neglected that year.
