Please can somebody tell me how I can permanently hide a thread?

I'm trying to hide xmas threads as I dislike xmas. I'm on the app and I click on 'hide thread', but it's still there next time I go into the section.

I have to exit the section because the thread titles and subjects just get messed up if I don't.

Can't I permanently hide threads I don't want to see?

I'm on android.

Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately you will need to do this on a desktop computer - if you go to www.mumsnet.com/Talk?call=Preferences you have the option if choosing talk topics to ignore in Active Conversations.
