Any interest in a Self-Care section?

Just wondering if there’s anyone else who would think this a good idea for a section. For things like:

  • diet discussions that aren’t about weight loss or recipes etc but just feeling good about what you eat
  • ideas of what to do when a bit down - I know there’s the MH section but more for ‘normal range’ of emotions than dealing with more complex conditions
  • discussing routines for self care - kind of style and beauty stuff but not so much to do with products etc., more feeling good about yourself
  • pacing/balancing conflicting priorities in life
  • dealing with ‘normal’ fatigue, rather than looking for help with diagnosis etc like in health section
  • comfort books/tv/podcasts
  • good self-help type books/blogs/podcasts
  • meditation (is there a topic this fits in?)
  • yoga for relaxation/anxiety etc
  • looking after oneself when run ragged with a newborn/kids (not really parenting as such as not about the kids?)

So, I know all these things could be squeezed into an existing section, or if not then _Chat, but it would be nice to have non-disappearing threads like this all in one place.

Anyone else agree with me???

Just popping by to say hello and that we'll keep an eye - see if there's any interest in this.

Yes I'd like that.

BusterGonad · 01/07/2018 18:46

I'd like that too as the diet threads make me depressed and I know loads about beauty and skin care but always love to hear about others routines and likes.

Definitely!

DickensianHysteric · 02/07/2018 16:16

I'd be interested in a topic that was a sort of combination of self care and personal development (which is maybe included in the mention of self help books/blogs etc in the OP). I'd like somewhere to talk about things like building confidence, how to act as your own "life coach" (for want of a better expression), goal setting and reflecting and improving etc, which don't seem quite right for the mental health section.

Whydotheycallyoured · 02/07/2018 16:17

I'd be interested too.

Wooops! Wrong thread Grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/07/2018 10:19

I would studiously avoid it.

WhatCanIDoNowPlease · 03/07/2018 10:23

It sounds good. So it would include beauty, health, diet, mental health etc but in a daily looking after yourself way, not waiting until you have an actual problem way?
