Could you explain the deletions for calling out racism please?

Some, but not all perhaps harshly worded, but how else do you say racism is shit? I am talking about the deletions on the thread about the golliwog mugs.

Hi OP,
We have had a look through our deletions on that thread and there are some that were deleted as they were clearly racist, but also some because they were goady or personal attacks.
If you are still concerned that we have missed something then please do report it and we will take a look and remove if they break our TGs

Hi everyone,

We've been back over that thread and deleted a lot more posts that we felt crossed the line - we're sorry that this wasn't done sooner. We do delete all PAs, yes - even if it's felt that one was deserved. We try to keep things civil, and we think it's possible to point out that someone's wrong or unreasonable without personal attacks. (And we do count 'fuck off' as one). If there's a post you think we've missed, please do report it to us and we will revisit.

C8H10N4O2 really sorry that your report hasn't been replied to. We'll have a look for that now and get back to you.

Hi all,

We're sorry some of you feel we're inconsistent in our deletions. The reports we receive vary hugely, and each one has it's own set of individual circumstances that we need take into consideration, so we appreciate it can appear that way sometimes.

We do have guidelines that we follow - and we are constantly in communication as a team to try and make sure we're as consistent as we possibly can be. We don't always get it right, and when we don't - we strive to hold our hands up, learn from it, and try to do better next time.

If you ever have concerns about a particular decision we've made then please do report to us or mail in at [email protected] and we'll always do our best to explain where we're coming from.

You can strongly and robustly call out disablism and racism - we just ask that it's done with civil debate in mind and without personal attacks, which is something we apply to all subjects. If there are posts and threads that you think we've missed here, please do report those to us and we can revisit them.
