Mumsnet Jobs ad slap-bang in the middle of Employment Board

Why does the Advert for Mumsnet Jobs have to be slap bang in the middle of the Employment Issues 'home board'? It's so intrusive! You have to scroll right past ever. single. time.

I understand you have to advertise and I know it's the employment board but why pick on us who use that board regularly to have an advert right in the middle of the thread list.

I hope it won't be a permanent feature.

Hi Dawn, I am using the desktop site with my iPad. I've also noticed on my Galaxy smartphone, the advert is there, with > navigation to scroll through the ads, otherwise it would take up the entire real estate for the ads!

Question - Don't your developers do the necessary usability checks, before these changes are launched? If they did, they would know the advert takes up a significant percentage of the screen in both the desktop and phone versions. Not a good look, why do job vacancies have to be inflicted on everyone!

It's in the middle of several threads as well.

Yep, has been happening to me too - laptop, banner ad at the top of the thread and ads in the middle of it. It's making me avoid posts in that section tbh. Not sure why it's just employment.

This is what I'm confronted with when I go to the home view of Employment Issues Board. A bit intrusive, non?

On the mobile site (android in chrome), the mid-thread job carousel blocks the readability. I have almost thought it was the end of the posts and navigated away. Or worse, commented before I have RTFT!

Hello HQ, any news on this from your Ad folk? Would be nice to restore order and usability to our Employment Board ta.

It's also preventing me having my usual preference of showing both who began a thread and when the last contribution was, so it's definitely not configured properly yet.
