Is there anywhere we can critique the tip of the day???

Because honestly, most of them are the most ridiculous, waste of time crap or something so obvious you'd have to be not to do that already.

I've only read 1 that was any use to me.

Ah, I see.

This sentence "On MN those who shout loudest, post longest and are the rudest are the most regarded" I misread the last word as 'retarded' and stopped reading.

Oh WT it's shit! It was something about about holding back a few presents at Xmas and letting them open a gift now and then throughout the next few months! Not very exciting and never seen it up as tip of the day and never won a comp. I keep changing it a bit as I can never think of anything when i want to enter a comp.
I don't even think of really obvious things that I do tht I can pretend are a tip!

Not a bad tip, tc, esp good for when they're sick, methinks?

I have just texted a friend, What is your best parenting tip?

"Don't have kids."

I may enter this for the next comp, whaddya think?

Cappuccino · 02/05/2007 13:29

I learned how to clean a child's teeth from behind from dd's therapists

I don't actually think it's such a bad thing to pass on

AnnabelCaramel · 02/05/2007 13:29

Some people may just go and break some spaghetti even if they are not cooking spaghetti????

Some of us are very literal.

AnnabelCaramel · 02/05/2007 13:32

I just meant that some people take things a bit literally sometimes!

Porcupine · 02/05/2007 13:32

connie is hunker

AnnabelCaramel · 02/05/2007 13:33

NO? Really?

ThomCat · 02/05/2007 13:33

LOL WT - it's probably been done 12 times already as it is a top tip!

AnnabelCaramel - LOL! wtf??????

ThomCat · 02/05/2007 13:34

Is she really.

Let's lure her out with a weaning thread and see!

Porcupine · 02/05/2007 13:34

My best friend and I used to try to out do each other with ridiculous 'tips' to send to the magazines at our local takeaway. Our personal favourite was 'Collect the ends of bars of soap in an old pop sock. Hey presto - soap on a rope!'

The magazine actually published 'I turn my cream slice on its side to cut it in half, so the cream doesn't come spurting out of the sides.' I'm sure that changed many readers' lives for the better. The MN tips are inspirational by comparison.

ThomCat · 02/05/2007 13:35

I like Hunker too, a lot. If Connie is Hunker it's her having a wind up rather than being serious.

ConnieDescending · 02/05/2007 13:36

is it not bad MN etiquette to take what one had posted on another thread and paste it on a different one?

OP posts:
Porcupine · 02/05/2007 13:36
Wink
fleacircus · 02/05/2007 13:36

Good grief, was so caught up in top tips I missed all that. Hunker really? On what basis?

fleacircus · 02/05/2007 13:37

Oh, I'm sorry, didn't know that. Am a negligible newbie anyway so please excuse poor etiquette. Wont do it again.

Porcupine · 02/05/2007 13:37

on no basis what so ever

fleacircus · 02/05/2007 13:38

In my defence, I did cut the actual nasty bit.
