Fetishists and pervs, welcome to MN!

I appreciate it is entirely possible someone really worries very much about feet and PE. Worries so much they have to start several threads over the years and always post about PE and feet on other threads.

I do worry it gives the wrong impression what mumsnet is for.

ps. I do report trolls and pervs, too.

Young girls with large breasts and school uniform is another common one

Yes and when the same poster bangs on about it frequently, always starting out talking about 'smart' uniform and then a follow up post about the 'poor girls with large busts' I just worry about the subsequent over sharing of details.

I also find it frustrating that posters questioning it get deleted much faster than the thread even where its a repeat offender, posting at the weekend. It suggests that guidelines to out of hours mods are to focus on one rule at the expense of overall moderation.

BoucleJacket · 03/12/2017 12:59

I agree with Pax too.

The naivety of some people who overshare on this site is astounding.

So carry on warning people Pax and ignore old Myrtle up there.

PortiaCastis · 03/12/2017 13:01

Thing is when you've got a dd who fits the description the perve posts seem very weird and disgusting so I just do not understand the oversharing of a dds privacy

Gingernaut · 03/12/2017 13:03

The naive posters are one thing (and very annoying too 😡), but how many replies are actually other pervs fantasizing and how many replies are sock puppets created by the original perv?

paxillin · 03/12/2017 13:11

Well, if it is just a perv and his socks all alone, absolutely no harm done by a doubting Thomas.

OP posts:
paxillin · 03/12/2017 13:12

I love the idea of a perv being answered by other pervs and troll hunters alone, @Gingernaut. Perhaps they need a topic.

Assume at least a couple on a long running thread, sometimes more. On the mod'ing side of the fence (not on MN I hasten to add) its rare to find a troll of any kind who doesn't have sockpuppets to keep a thread going without being too obvious.

CoteDAzur · 03/12/2017 13:23

What is your purpose in life, Myrtle? I'm genuinely curious.

User843022 · 03/12/2017 13:39

'What is your purpose in life, Myrtle? I'm genuinely curious.'

Well, I have lots of 'purposes' thanks. Whats yours? you go first Grin

If you mean why I am I suggesting that people don't need to fret so much over pervs its because really, the internet is full of them. Ive no ideas why the op gets their knickers in such a huge knot about it.

Bereavement trolls are of course upsetting to those that share their stroies. Poo trolls and PE fetishists just need reporting, no angst required.

CoteDAzur · 03/12/2017 13:45

Your purpose in life seems to be tied in to giving MNers the two fingers whenever they express discontent with anything on here.

And you clearly take it quite seriously.

User843022 · 03/12/2017 13:49

'Your purpose in life seems to be tied in to giving MNers the two fingers'

My 'purpose in life' Confused. You mean posting here and what, a few weeks ago on another 'what about the pervs what will MN DO ABOUIT IT waah waah!' thread?

Yeah whatever cote, off you pop with your total exaggerations.

Well, I haven't started this as a waah waah thread. Why are you so fucking dismissive? Argue like a grown up, not a self-appointed prefect after dojo points.

OP posts:
PaintingByNumbers · 03/12/2017 14:08

What is oversharing in the context of an anonymous website? Does it matter if posters are naive or not? The only things I strongly dislike are the posters who drag everyone in with, for example, child cancer stories going on over a year, or premature babies in nicu, when it is a complete fabrication. Telling someone where to buy school uniform, not so bothered by tbh

User843022 · 03/12/2017 14:32

'If it's not such a vital part of your personality and life goals, why the fuck do you keep doing it?'

Yet here you are with your 'life goals' of whining at me. The op started a thread about a PE fetishist thread that was deleted. A bit of a non event really. You sound very angry cote, you ok?

Just report, which is all you'll be advised to do anyway unless you're after a gold star for pointing out that, guess what, there's pervs and fetishists on the internet.

Sorry pax what? A self appointed prefect after what points? Grin

just5morepeas · 03/12/2017 14:34

I think this is important. The problem with a forum being frequented by pervs and trolls - even on an anonymous forum when the threads (might) eventually get deleted - is that people can get sick of it and leave, or it puts off new people from joining. So your numbers and the quality of the site dwindles.

A forum is only as good as the members who post there.

CoteDAzur · 03/12/2017 14:34

People overshare because they are not aware that the OP is a perv who wants to collect stories of women pissing their panties or teenage girls leaking menstrual blood to wank over.

When MNers point out on the thread that this is likely the pervy troll who was deleted numerous times for such OPs, they get deleted for 'troll hunting'. So more people overshare until MNHQ finally deletes the thread.

That is what pax is talking about.

CoteDAzur · 03/12/2017 14:37

I'm OK Myrtle, thanks for asking. You on the other hand, can't possibly be OK to think that people actually need you to say "Just report" every fucking time that someone brings up a problem to MNHQ's attention.

We do know that there is a Report button on MN. Really, we do. You can go back under your duvet until the next time you think MNHQ needs you to defend them from MNers and their requests.

TheMaddHugger · 03/12/2017 15:08

I too agree with Pax.

User843022 · 03/12/2017 15:14

'You on the other hand, can't possibly be OK to think that people actually need you to say "Just report" every fucking time that someone brings up a problem to MNHQ's attention. '

Yeah so you've said, ironically 'every fucking time'. Bring problems to mnhq all you like Grin. They will say pervs get deleted, which strangely enough they do. Honestly you'll explode at this rate.

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/12/2017 15:40

So do I, Hugger

I also agree with this

I think this is important. paxillin · 03/12/2017 15:58

Yes. And I agree people give up and leave. Many of the fun, clever posters are posting less or only on the one topic of special interest, because they look at Active and think "1. troll, 2. troll, 3. not my interest, 4. perv, 5. perhaps fun- no, troll, 6. very sad, 7. troll, 8. really tedious". The earnest Polly Perfects have all stayed and finger-point at the rules.

OP posts:
FlissMumsnet · 03/12/2017 15:58

We don't think Pax expected the thread to go derail like this.

Thanks so much for your ideas about limiting/slowing Troll hunting Pax we will definitely make sure the bosses hear them.

In the meantime, can we have some peace and love . Flowers

paxillin · 03/12/2017 16:00

Thanks, @FlissMumsnet. We will be peaceful.
