It doesn’t seem to be consistent or to tie in to anything happening on the TIO, for example, so thought I’d ask.

Hi @cozietoesie - what do you mean by the buzz bar? If you could take a screenshot I’ll have a look. Thanks!

cozietoesie · 19/10/2017 15:49

On ios11 Tim, there’s a ‘bottom bar’ - I didn’t know what else to call it. It has some standard symbols plus symbols for the last three - or so - apps you’ve used. (I’ll try to take a screenshot.)

PS - I’ll wait until the symbol appears so that you will know what I mean......

Is it this? Bottom left hand corner? I get it whether there is a message or not...drag, my screenshot didn't take...

Here we go.

Not quite. It’s like a little white ‘double curving arrow in a circle’ which hangs over the MN symbol in the bottom bar. I assumed it was some sort of iOS 11 delicacy - but I’m perplexed as to what it actually signifies.

My bottom navigation bar( using ipad app) looks a bit tight, not displaying the headings in full.

TimMumsnet · 20/10/2017 12:33

@picklemepopcorn that’s a shortcut way of opening the app from the lock screen. Your iPad suggests apps that you typically use at a given place and time, so isn’t something we have control over.

picklemepopcorn · 20/10/2017 14:23

Ah ha! Thank you! I thought it meant I had a message, but I never did...weeps silently.

cozietoesie · 26/10/2017 14:19

My device finally obeyed means took a picture. Grin

...me and took.....

It’s an alarm clock. Sky net is monitoring how long you spend on mUmsnet, in case you get uppity and think you know better than the machines... Wink

cozietoesie · 26/10/2017 17:37

Ah. Grin

It does look like a clock, rather, if you drag the picture out. Smile

Gonna have to hope @TimMumsnet comes back and tells us... I hate a mystery!

cozietoesie · 26/10/2017 20:16

It may be a special Apple secret. (Perhaps they run Skynet,Grin)

OP posts:
picklemepopcorn · 07/11/2017 07:05

I have it now, too! And it pops up on other apps. Mysterious...

cozietoesie · 23/11/2017 19:35

I think it's a special Apple secret. Wink

eurochick · 23/11/2017 19:42

It looks like it's to do with Siri figuring out what apps you usually use at that time:

cozietoesie · 23/11/2017 19:49

Ah. The dock! Grin

Now I know. Sadly, it doesn't look - from that conversation - as if Apple's staff know much about it, though. They seem to be parroting Tech responses to them. Wink

Hey guys, just noticed this thread - yup it's showing the apps that you typically use at that time of the day. I think you can turn off this feature in Siri settings if you want.
