i'd love to come to your house too, Dumbledoresgirl...just let me know when and where and i'll bring the gang- we have a rather nice egg left

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:21

a gang, mrsjs!?? barred on MN now, new rules. even family members must travel separately.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 09/04/2007 19:22

Yeah the its a wonderful weekend stuf fmakes me grin- stuck at home with Dh asleep in bed (night shift), some old codgers parked their car outside (we live in a narrow one way road) so that the road is vlovked and everyone hurls abuse / calls the police (- over reaction?) on us and we don't know who it was; DH had to damage his wing mirror to get past on way home (couldn't reverse because of traffic), ds1 in severe meltdown, can't yet drive the car (big one and I don't fancy getting stuck out alone with the boys)....

would love to get 'out there', seriously not happening today!

DumbledoresGirl · 09/04/2007 19:24

Your gang against my gang then eh Mrsjohn?

Am I in the wrong here? I thought you lived in NZ.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:28

oh no, what a terreebleh fox pass... you just invited mrsjohncusack over to yours and mrsjohnsimm accepted. [horror]

DumbledoresGirl · 09/04/2007 19:31

Is there a difference? Aren't all you Mumsnetters the same person anyway? (apart from me, of course!)

MerlinsBeard · 09/04/2007 19:31

i don't mind controversial threads, its when they turn into a car crash that i don't like them.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:33

DG'sgirl, you are the girlfriend of a fictional character... not v real. at least the mrs j simms and cusacks of this world are the imaginary wives of real people. and me? well i'm just wet.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:35

plus, i think DG bats for the other team. apparently he used to go out with Snape. [true story]

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:35

pmsl DD not DG...

RustyBear · 09/04/2007 19:36

I do think some posters are too quick to shout 'bullies' when three or four posters in a row disagree with them - especially if they feel it's a 'clique' that's persecuting them. But if you think about it, it's hardly surprising that people with similar views on many subjects become MN friends, or that they then all post on those subjects.

And as far as the current SAHM/WOHM threads are concerned, one of the main reasons they've stayed civilised is that Xenia never cries bully despite having far more reason than pretty much anyone else round here to suspect that people may be ganging up. And I say that as someone who heartily disagrees with most of what she has to say on that subject)

I also dont think posters should be called patronising simply because they use correct grammar & spelling, as long as they don't correct anyone else.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:39

yeay, rusty. i really do agree with you there. and that's one of the reasons why i find the implacable xenia unbelievably impressive despite disagreeing with her opinions.

DumbledoresGirl · 09/04/2007 19:39

H2O (I am not going to dignify you by writing your name out in full) DD bats for the other side? Now that is contraversial!

Snaf · 09/04/2007 19:40

I am.

There are three threads atm on subjects very close to my heart, and about which I hold strong, passionate (and of course completely infallible ) views.

But I can't be arsed with the arguing and the backbiting and the namecalling and the generalised bollocks which seems to attend much of MN these days [spineless old fart with ridiculously short memory emoticon]. Just looking at them makes me feel weary.

So I'm staying away and keeping my opinions to myself. Which, I'm sure you'll agree, is a keenly-felt loss for everyone. Hehe.

DumbledoresGirl · 09/04/2007 19:40

controversial even

Snaf · 09/04/2007 19:41

I mean, of course, I do.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2007 19:41

i know, i'm getting all mixed up, amn't i? so anyway, are you the fake daughter or the fake girlfriend of an imaginary dead gay wizard?

SherlockLGJ · 09/04/2007 19:43

As a self confessed addict, I am spending less and less time here.

I like funny, I like witty, I hate bitchy and I reallly hate judgmental.

DumbledoresGirl · 09/04/2007 19:44

No, I am the very real adherent to a philosophy propounded by a fictional heterosexual wizard!

mrsjohnsimnelcake · 09/04/2007 19:46

I'll have you know my DHn is a very lovely lovely man- now don't invite the mrsphilipgenlister gang- theya re just palin rough

SherlockLGJ · 09/04/2007 19:47

Palin rough, have they been tainted by that Monty Python crowd.

I'm on here less recently partly due to being too busy in RL and partly due to not knowing anyone anymore!
