Adverts at the bottom of threads before posting box

On mobile site, safari. Really annoying, unpleasant place to put them. Double size of mid thread ads too. When you go to bookmark the last post it's easy to click on the advert by mistake (on purpose?) and when posting a comment you now have to click on post twice for some reason. Please could these horrible ads be moved back to mid thread and made a reasonable size? Thanks

Yes they are getting on my nerves.

Thanks @BoreOfWhabylon for voicing your concerns. Obviously, we do need ads to keep Mumsnet ticking on as a free-to-use site, and the problem with having them below the posting box is that very few users scroll beyond that point to actually see the ad.

But we really don't want them to have a detrimental affect on usability, which rather defeats the purpose. We're working closely with our tech bods and adops team and we really do value all your suggestions and comments here.

Can we just check - for those of you who find you're accidentally clicking on the ad, what action are you trying to do when this happens? Are you trying to write in the posting box, for example?

And one other thing; the ad dominates the screen when you get to the bottom of the thread - but it doesn't appear until that point for anyone does it? (So, hopefully, when you go to post or to click onwards to page 2, the ad is dismissed?) Just checking that everyone is seeing what they're meant to be seeing, and we don't have rogue ads or anything else!

Cheers all.

I think these ads are the reason why I am suddenly having difficulties in posting comments. They pop up as I am trying to posteoporosis, so instead of posting what I have just typed I end up inadvertently hitting the ad and losing the message I have typed. So yes, affecting usability.

I've ended up clicking on the advert while trying to bookmark a thread. Irritating.

I keep clicking on them by mistake too.
I am using the chrome on an android tablet and when I am reading a thread but not posting the advert lines up with the blue active/watching/add post/I'm on/search buttons.
Very annoying.
