just read a thread where the first letter of every sentence was capitalised and no others in the entire thread. even if the sentence started with "i" and contained another "i", the first would be capitalised and the second not. seemed awfully unlikely the poster actually wrote like that, so made me wonder if mumsnet automatically corrects the first letter. i've typed this all lower case, so this is a test.
