I wish we could LIKE posts. It would be so cool. Please think about getting that feature.

Unlike Grin

Maudlinmaud · 20/05/2017 19:31

No please don't. Likes can stay on Facebook and the daily mail comment section. They would be useless and possibly antagonistic here.

Timmytoo · 20/05/2017 19:32

Yes but at least you can agree with a poster without getting slammed for it. I think it would be great Grin

Pagwatch · 20/05/2017 19:33

Nope. It's not a popularity contest, its a conversation . If you enjoy a post then say so.

You will end up with some poster putting up something nasty or racist and getting likes for it. Bleugh.

JennyHolzersGhost · 20/05/2017 19:33

Unlike also

Highalert · 20/05/2017 19:33

We could have thumbs up or down. Think of the bunfights that would cause. Grin

BroomhildaVonShaft · 20/05/2017 19:34

No, this isn't Facebook, we use words here Grin

PhilODox · 20/05/2017 19:34

No. If you're too lazy to type "good post oddthing".... go use a site that has a "like" button. Angry

Maudlinmaud · 20/05/2017 19:34

If you are getting slammed on mumsnet there usually is a valid reason.

DonkeyOaty · 20/05/2017 19:34

No. Use your words.

For example:

I really don't think that suggestion will enhance the flow of conversation, and after all, this is a chat-board.

Highalert · 20/05/2017 19:35

I do sometimes wish I could like a post that makes me laugh. I get confused between here and FB when I'm on both at the same time.

DonkeyOaty · 20/05/2017 19:36

But you have tempted Paggy out of the woodwork, Timmy so I'm going to high five you .

Highalert · 20/05/2017 19:38

Shall we all like Pags posts so she will stay around?

MissTakesOurMaid · 20/05/2017 19:38

I don't think a like button is in the spirit of MN. MN was created for debate and talk - a like button reduces debates IYKWIM?

Maybe a like button could be implemented on certain parts of the site e.g. chat, telly addicts, baby names - where 'jokey' posts are likely. But leave the like button out of places like AIBU, Feminism chat, to encourage debate?

ScarlettFreestone · 20/05/2017 19:39

What Pag and Broom said ^^

I don't think likes will in any way enhance the site.

The subject has come up several times before. The majority of users don't want likes.

Sparklingbrook · 20/05/2017 19:40

Urgh no. It would be like the Daily Mail comments section. Do you want a dislike button too?

The whole point of MN Talk is to talk. Hmm

Timmytoo · 20/05/2017 19:42

👋 high five back Donkey

Sparklingbrook · 20/05/2017 19:44

After the current run of hairy handedness I could see some trolls getting lots of Likes before the threads get deleted. Hmm

magimedi · 20/05/2017 19:52

Lovely to see you, Pag.

Unlovely to have 'likes'. Join in the conversation rather than ticking a box.

Pagwatch · 20/05/2017 21:50
Grin

Hello folks. Nice to see you

Welcome back Pag!

WellErrr · 21/05/2017 08:50

I do sometimes wish I could like a post that makes me laugh.

You can. You can either just like it by yourself, or if you feel the need to share you can use your words and tell us.

Had to check the date on this when I saw Pag Grin

HoneyDragon · 21/05/2017 08:52

Nope.
