TV addicts pop-up

When I click onto a new thread about a TV programme I get a popup demanding that I sign up to some film and TV newsletter which, so far as I can tell, you can't click away - you have to go back to the main list and click again.. It is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. Any chance of getting rid?

Came on here to complain about this - MNHQ promised it would be sorted soon, but it's still happening today.. but I guess it's a Bank holiday.

You can't click off it, but you don't have to subscribe to make it go away - I just clicked the back button on my browser, and then refreshed the page.

But, it's too annoying and I'm not going to use MN for a while because I can't stand crap like this.

Yes I got the pop up when I posted on the Telly addicts thread. Won't be bothering again.

Ffs. Something else annoying as fuck. Wtaf is going on with mumsnet these days. There seems to be a glich or cn issue at least once a month. Please sort this shit up.

Looks like it, Lorra. You would think it was a quick job just to disable the pop-up but nobody's home. Will be interesting to see how quickly this is resolved tomorrow. I'm guessing the deadline for implementing it was to satisfy the advertisers, who may be less than impressed that it's pushing traffic away.

I used the back button instead of subscribing and it goes away

Seems very odd to release a "marketing feature" just before a long bank holiday weekend and it totally glitches on all of us. Not cool MN. On Android /Chrome if that helps.

Could notes be taken about not springing this sort of thing on us during Bank Holiday weekends in future?

I just opened two threads on TV addicts and wasn't presented with the popup at all. I wouldn't declare it fixed until you know people are seeing the popup and been able to close it successfully and that registers that they don't need to see it again. But I am happy for now.
