But, eg the NHS thread, started from the TV programme.

Personally I am totally fed up of news. If DH wants to watch the 10oclock news I usually go to bed. It's mostly depressing, wars involving soldiers who want to sacrifice themselves so that they can go to heaven, this didn't used to be the case, so how the war was developing was interesting. Now it's just cruel and on going.
And anything that Mrs May or DTrump has done is in the news on my phone first thing in the morning. It is then repeated ad nauseum for the rest of the day until it is done to death.

I do listen to some news. The 11am Saturday prog on Radio 4 ( I think it's the week in parliament) and often the business news at 6.15 on the today prog. And the news headlines when I get up. But after that I listen to snippets but lately it is the same over and over, dire goings on in the Labour Party, Brexit, more Brexit and more Brexit, very fixed views still.

Because there is no money there is little debate about how to improve the NHS/ schools/ roads etc. So nothing much to be said. I think that might be the prob, this and no opposition hence nothing to debate.
