Why is the MN iPhone app so huge?

It is possibly just me and I don't know much about the tech involved. But it takes up 1.57 gb at the last count! It is the most massive app I have by quite some way, Netflix is the next biggest one and it's nearly three times smaller and has 2 offline video downloads. I keep having to delete things from my iPhone 5 because it's taking up so much space. It's not storing photos or other files offline, is it, so I fail to see why it is so large! Perhaps someone can enlighten me?

I just don't know. But mine - on the iPad and running the Test betas - are consistently closer to (lower a little than) your new size. (I know that I'm not using a phone but they're still the iOS app.)

Deleted and reinstalled and it's now down to a manageable 23mb

Mine's 234MB. How is the app a different size for everybody ?

In the interests of experimentation, I just deleted and reinstalled the app on this device. It immediately went down to 25MB or so from just under 46MB. (It had started to creep up.)

Maybe you should try the same, Tequila?
