How do I find who is in my local area? More to the point how do I avoid those in my local area>

It's all part of one of many of tech's cunning plans, which hasn't yet come to fruition. The idea being that if you join Mumsnet and would like to meet up with local mumsnetters in RL, we'd be able to put you in touch with other local mumsnetters who'd expressed a desire to meet local mumsnetters....Oh you know what I mean!
Anyway crucially there's no obligation to sign up or be put in touch with anyone, it's just something we thought we'd include as an option.

Hurro,
That (displaying yes always) was a fault. It basically always displayed "yes". It knew you meant no though, iyswim. It should be working properly now.
