I knew it was initially a Cadbury sponsored emoji, but I doubt many other people do, care or even remember the origin of it.

So it is just an emoji, of a bar of chocolate.

I never even realised it was Cadbury. I suppose if I look at it close up and squint I can sort of see that that yellow squiggle could say Cadbury, but I always just thought it was a generic chocolate emoji.

I think it's a good point, many of us were pretty fed up about the mondelez deal and would prefer their little ad not to become part of the furniture.

I looked at the thread you linked to earlier OP and it had purple bars of chocolate - I looked again and now the emojis are gone from that thread and the chocolate has changed to red.

Or were they always red? I don't actually know tbh.

Binary's linked thread has official purple emoticons for me and there is still an option for it under the text box.

Well I'd never noticed it says Cadbury on it! Despite being flippant earlier, I do get it. If the chocolate emoticon stays perhaps a change of wrapper could be made. Many are unenamoured at best with Cadbury at the moment, there's no good reason for MN to keep up the advertising, presumably for free at this point, no matter how crap and unobvious it is.

Also love the idea that the OP was counting down the days to Nov 15 to post this, but decided to wait another month just to make sure
