How on earth do I get rid of these massive adverts for the Spectre surrounding my screen?

It - and the woman with the awful bowl haircut - is really starting to annoy me, the posts are being squished to about a third of the page

Real answer: you install an ad blocker. Ad Block Plus is available on many platforms, is free, and works. See discussion on the many other complaint threads.

Yes, this is really annoying. The ads have totally taken over. I realise you need them for revenue but at this rate, everyone is going to install ad blockers and then you won't get any revenue at all.

My screen is well over half occupied by ad space at the moment.
