and I'm usually forest green, is there a reason, I checked my setting and apart from the fact that the colour currently in use isn't even listed, Forest Green is still ticked! Any advice gratefully received!
Thank you!

Even if you go to customise, it doesn't work. Mine still says Forest Green in customise, but it's showing as vile salmon pink!

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 17:24

Is it really salmon pink though? Can you post a screenshot - of this thread, say? Smile

CaptainHammer · 25/10/2016 17:37

Same here OneWaySystemBlues

I don't like the pink!

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 25/10/2016 17:42

My posts are still the same colour but the OP's posts should be forest green and are now a beigey peachy kind of thing. Difficult to describe but not nice.

MistressMerryWeather · 25/10/2016 18:01

Ditto, OneWay.

TheCrowFromBelow · 25/10/2016 18:11

It's gone weird, the OP is the colour that my posts should be and I'm the OPs colour.
It's very confusing Confused Confused

Optimist1 · 25/10/2016 18:31

Another Salmon Pink instead of Forest Green scenario here! (OP's posts remain Dark Lavender, for which I'm grateful - at least I know who one person on the thread is!)

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 18:39

The OP's posts are still acid green for me - on Page One of a thread. The repeated post on Page 2 changes to an insipid pale blue.

SauvignonBlanche · 25/10/2016 19:30

Another one with salmon pink OPs here when they should be Forest green and were yesterday.

T0ldmywrath · 25/10/2016 20:44

Glad to have found this! My OP's are usually green, but are now a horrible pink. My settings show my wants (OP green, myself in mauve)

SenecaFalls · 25/10/2016 20:47

The pale green I use for OP's posts are now bright lime green.

Nanny0gg · 25/10/2016 21:37

Thank you cozietoesie. Is it just me that thinks Customise should be under My Mumsnet? No? Ok then.

But anyway, back on topic.

Why have they changed the colours, without a by-your-leave or anything? And why don't they match what they're supposed to be?

PositiveAttitude · 25/10/2016 22:22

Another one here that's gone all peculiar. OPs are now in the same colour as my posts, which is confusing my addled brain. I keep reading and thinking "I don't remember typing that!!" then realising its not me at all!! My settings are still the same as they used to be, too.

BolivarAtasco · 25/10/2016 22:26

I was grey for OP and pale green for me.

The new colours are different on the mobile site and on the website.

I'm sorry, MN, but I deal with technical change stuff a lot (as in communicating it rather than coding it) and the way you roll out this stuff is nuts. You do highly visible changes with no warning whatsoever in the middle of the day.

A lot of posters use the ridiculously hard to find customise option to colour code their own posts and the OPs for quick reading, and not for the first time, you've removed/changed this valuable feature extremely noticeably without really much explanation.

Sorry, it's rare that I criticise someone else's website, of which I have no operational knowledge, in this way, but some of the changes don't seem that well organised or communicated.

Please don't kill me.

IamtheZombie · 25/10/2016 23:03

Dear MNHQ.

If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. OP was forest green; it's now the hideous salmon. Zombie's own posts are still lavendar, thank fuck.

In her ever so humble opinion you are trying to do far too much far too quickly. Changes are not being properly beta tested and bugs eliminated before you implement them site wide. Zombie was under the obviously mistaken impression that you wanted to improve the colours for webchats. At least that's what your own thread said. Instead it's screwing things up site wide.

You've upset a lot of your regular and long term posters recently with not only this but also things like the "native ads".

Zombie includes herself in the legions of the upset. She is even beginning to question whether the immense support she receives here is worth the increasing hassle of using the site.

5Foot5 · 25/10/2016 23:15

Zombie. I agree entirely with your comments about beta testing and bugs. However when you say posters are upset I am sure you are right but I think you overlook the fact that you are not the customer. The advertisers are. What posters like must always be secondary. Mumsnet is a business after all.

cozietoesie · 25/10/2016 23:57

Fewer posters = fewer readers = less advertising revenue, 5. It's in nobody's interests to alienate people, surely?

Yamadori · 26/10/2016 00:02

My 'OP' posts were forest green but showing as salmon pink so I've just changed OP's posts to 'Olive' and now they are coming out blue.

There is definitely something peculiar going on...

cozietoesie · 26/10/2016 00:09

You're brave. I'm not touching a thing in Customise in case it all disappears! Grin

GinAndOnIt · 26/10/2016 06:41

Bolivar I completely agree with you. I don't cope well with unexpected change, and I always struggle with other websites when they do a big change overnight, but it doesn't take me long to get used to it. The constant little changes here are really difficult to process when they keep happening.

I also feel it's a bit playground-y to have certain settings for some, and not for others.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 26/10/2016 06:55

Glad it's not just me, OP's posts have turned that hideous shade of salmon pink for me too, used to be forest green and after eventually tracking down customize, it says they still are!

I find the salmon colour hard on my eyes and it clashes with the lavender colour of my own posts!

And how the hell do you quickly find customise? I had to go through FAQS. It helpfully provided a link but didn't tell me where it is actually located these days.

cozietoesie · 26/10/2016 09:30

It lives in the arrow link near 'Talk', Doyou. (Towards the top left of board pages on the main site.)

I suspect that any disparity in settings won't last long, Gin. It's just .......expedient for MNHQ to do it right now. (Like retaining Classic.) Wink

BeyondReasonablyDoubts · 26/10/2016 10:42

I'm also not touching customise, I'll just leave til it's fixed.

Dawndonnaagain · 26/10/2016 11:02

I'm still pink! !
