Hi folks,

We'd like to add some more topics that have been requested but to do that we need to retire a few less well used ones or the talk home page will be unfeasibly long... so here are our suggestions:

Hello to:
Am I being unreasonable?
Geek stuff
The sandwich generation (elderly parents etc)

Goodbye to:
Member profiles
Christmas (until about August at least)
Creative writing - sorry budding authors - would you mind using other subjects/ culture vultures from now on?
Sports (other subjects for you too please sports fans if you don't mind?)

Please do let us know if you've any violent objections.
Best,
MNHQ

SEA, doesn't that come under the Culture Vultures bit ?

CountessDracula · 29/01/2007 12:04

can we have a dog sledding topic as I am going soon

Gameboy · 29/01/2007 12:04

Oy! I like the skiing topic!

Cappuccino · 29/01/2007 12:05

lol CD

if sports is going I reckon skiing can

also House Swaps? Can this go on Swap Shop?

not that 'Swap' is technically the way to spell it, of course...

zippitippitoes · 29/01/2007 12:06

and I think classified is very clunky and ditch for sale as a free thing unless people are giving things away..change it to recycle shop

for sale seems to cause problems more than it helps

Gameboy · 29/01/2007 12:07

I think we need a 'Good Budgeting' thread judging from how many people I've seen discussing debt etc .

CountessDracula · 29/01/2007 12:07

swap/swop are both correct

Cappuccino · 29/01/2007 12:08

gameboy I think you might be right

but not about skiing

zippitippitoes · 29/01/2007 12:09

recommended tradespersons is a waste of space..doesn't work on here no one ever finds anyone

what about moneymakers or pin money

southeastastra · 29/01/2007 12:10

suppose so NDP but would 'culture vultures' be the right place to discuss take that

ledodgy · 29/01/2007 12:12

I agree get rid of recommend a tradesperson the only time i've ever seen it used on here is when someone who has never posted before raves about their new builder and it's obvious it's her husband!

itsmeNDP · 29/01/2007 12:12

I know what you mean SEA

zippitippitoes · 29/01/2007 12:28

not sure i can recommend a tradesperson

this morning one took down his trousers rearranged his bits and then pulled his jeans back up rearranged himself again and then made a huge performance of doing his belt up just right..

I was so mortified i had to go upstairs and hide for half an hour

itsmeNDP · 29/01/2007 12:30

'took down his trousers' ? Actually took his tackle out in front of you ?!

zippitippitoes · 29/01/2007 12:32

well he was outside and I am inside i think the light must reflect on the window so he doesn't realise i can see them..

piglit · 29/01/2007 12:37

Every tradesperson that comes to my house has a massive smelly poo in my downstairs loo. I just don't understand why. Even the man who had just emptied the septic tank.

nailpolish · 29/01/2007 12:44

ys the tradesperson topic a bit useless

as is travel - thats too bitty - doesnt need to be split up so much

LOL at geek topic - my dh visits geek forums (hes in IT) they dotn discuss IT tho - just argue over the size of Cat Deeleys tits etc

CD are you really going dog sledding? With your own dog?

zippitippitoes · 29/01/2007 12:49

Travel could be

with children and without children..that's pruned to two topics

Flamesparrow · 29/01/2007 13:24

Gameboy - Debt free 2007 is for budgetting

Are there seriously several different travel sections??? I never go anywhere so haven't a clue!

fennel · 29/01/2007 13:31

am a bit at the idea that the environment could be subsumed into Good Housekeeping. Some of us don't DO housekeeping, good or otherwise. especially as it's greener to do less housekeeping - all those polluting chemicals avoided in the dirty but organic household.

but Environment could be under Other subjects.

nailpolish · 29/01/2007 13:32

you can be green AND have a clean hoose you know

Flamesparrow · 29/01/2007 14:16

Nooo, don't say things like that!!! Tis my only excuse!

jampot · 29/01/2007 14:18

no objections to those either but like suzy i dont understand teh sandwich generation =. if its to discuss/complain about elderies can it not go in am i being unreasonable.

jampot · 29/01/2007 14:20

snort at zippi

he did it OUTSIDE????

zippitippitoes · 29/01/2007 17:25
