Hi

Will speak to techs and see what they can do. Anyone else have a problem with this ad?

fairydust · 07/06/2004 17:13

yes it keeps driving me.....

SoupDragon · 07/06/2004 17:49

Erm... what ad??

muddaofsuburbia · 07/06/2004 17:52

Every so often up the top of the screen an advert for wanadoo comes up. Some are silent, but I've now nearly jumped out of my skin at 2 different ones - one has a tennis court on it, but I forget the other one. Flashing ones I can just about cope with, but these speak to you! It's all very eerie!

I very rarely have my speakers on and I suspect Norton Internet Security may be blocking the ads for me.

muddaofsuburbia · 07/06/2004 17:58

Just realised the title of this thread sounds really narky - am not being shouty, honest - just banneradphobic

Think calm thoughts...

Flip · 07/06/2004 18:01

I want to hear it before you get rid. I've switched my speakers on specially.

kalex · 07/06/2004 18:43

Just had it, yeah I'm with others it's got to go

jampot · 07/06/2004 18:52

right, where is this ad? I want to see/hear it

muddaofsuburbia · 07/06/2004 18:58

Just got it again - "Watch Wimbledon highlights with Wanadoo broadband" - then tennis crowd noise and ball noises comes on and an umpire saying "Quiet please".

Just spoken with the ad company - they just fill the ad space for us, we don't get to choose the ads. They were grateful for the feedback and cross that someone was using sound as they're not supposed to. They've also promised to remove it. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
