Mobile site on iOS diverting to dodgy pop-ups

This only happens on MN, not on any other site. A dialogue box pops up, telling me that I have won an iPhone, and with only the option to tap 'OK'.

what's going on, please?

I'm getting this too - really frustrating. It's only when using MN and you can't close the ad so have to close whole tab and start again

Yes I am getting these, both the phone one and the dodgy site as well. The you've won a phone one comes up a lot.

I'm really surprised it's taking so long to get sorted. Especially when some of the pop ups are pretty graphic!

Hi all - we really do understand how annoying this is. We're afraid they are having trouble blocking them, but we can assure you they are still working on it and will continue to do so until they're gone. We're so sorry that these ones have been so troublesome.

a friend of mine works for a website and they told me about an free app called HTTP Watch on the apple store. If you go onto any site using this special app on your phone it records all these bits of code about ads which the website can then use to stop the bad ads. She told me it doesn't record anything personal but really helps. maybe Mumsnet could have some sort of tips forum so we can all stop these vile ads.
