On the mobile site, I often tap on a thread but the one that opens is 2-3 lines higher.

Does that make sense? So there will be a list of Active threads:

AIBU to think pigs can fly?

Help with Potty training

Oh no, I'm covered in bees!

I'll click on "Bees" and it will take me to "pigs". I don't always notice straight away either. It's really annoying! The page isn't even jumping unless it happens in the split second that I click every time.

I am using android 5.1.1, standard Samsung browser.

Yes this happens to me too! I thought it was the page jumping to start with but it definitely isn't. Mobile site, chrome for Android not sure which version, possibly 5.1 (not the latest one).

Thurlow · 12/04/2016 11:13

Oooh, I get this too and I thought it was just me being stupid! Chrome on an Android Samsung. I always assumed it was because the page was actually loading slower than it appear, so while you think you've got Bees in the middle of your screen, Android/Chrome actually has Pigs in the middle of your screen.

Queenbean · 12/04/2016 11:15

Yes this happens to me too!

I assumed that it was the crappy advertising banner along the top taking more time to load than the actual content, so by the time you click on the thread you want the banner has loaded and pushed everything else down.

catsofa · 12/04/2016 11:32

My whole mn experience is plagued and almost ruined by this issue, I had assumed it was just my phone getting slow but also the stupid banner ads loading. I go backwards and forwards between active and threads I don't want until I land on something I want to read, often still not what I was actually aiming for. I wouldn't persevere if I wasn't still breastfeeding in a dark room so often!

Also using mobile site on chrome on Android and this happens all the time. Also terribly slow at loading compared to other sites. And sometimes the page has finished loading but you get halfway down the page and it is just blank halfway through a post!

Naoko · 12/04/2016 11:44

Yeah that's been going on for months, very annoying. Chrome/Android 4.3 here (and yes, the age of the phone probably isn't helping the loading speed in this case...)

LilithTheKitty · 12/04/2016 11:48

Same here. I also thought it was a fat fingers/dodgy phone combination.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/04/2016 11:50

Another one here thinking it was just me / my phone!

LineyReborn · 12/04/2016 11:55

Yep, me too.

cozietoesie · 12/04/2016 12:58

I've been getting this recently on the new App.

AmysTiara · 12/04/2016 13:03

Yep me too. Annoying.

BertieBotts · 12/04/2016 13:03

Oh good not just me then! :)

JoolsSchmools · 12/04/2016 13:09

Me too.
Patiently waiting for when the android app comes out (this decade hopefully) as I'm guessing not much can be done about it

MoreGilmoreGirls · 12/04/2016 13:11

Happens to me all the time, it's usually a sponsored thread so I was wondering if it happened on purpose. Bloody annoying Angry

ouryve · 12/04/2016 13:12

Yes - it's happening to me.

Not unlike the big jump that happens on the desktop site.

There's obviously a big script, somewhere, that takes a while to load, causing problems for everyone using the site via a browser. That and the freezing problem have made me give up, a few times now.

LineyReborn · 12/04/2016 13:15

Big script to load = too many flashing fucking adverts

cozietoesie · 12/04/2016 14:14

Thinking about it, I may, more often, have been getting the thread 'just above' than any greater distance.

scandichick · 12/04/2016 14:23

I'm the same as cozie, lately it's the thread above the one I wanted that opens if I don't wait for the slow banner to load.

BeccaMumsnet · 12/04/2016 14:52

Hi all - sounds like this needs to get over to Tech straight away.

Has anyone noticed any particular ads when this happens?

Queenbean · 12/04/2016 14:57

Hi Becca, thanks

It tends to be after I've been on style and beauty very ugly sandals at the moment that new ads pop up

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 12/04/2016 14:58

I've noticed this too, but only for the last month or two. I assumed it was my phone. I'm using the mobile site on Android 5.1

cozietoesie · 12/04/2016 15:01

For me, I've noticed it on the new app, Becca, so that may make it not so much an ad issue?

BeccaMumsnet · 12/04/2016 15:37

Hi cozie - yes, you're probably right, good point! Tech are looking into it now so hopefully we will know soon. Thank you.

BertieBotts · 12/04/2016 15:39

Absolutely no idea on ads, sorry. I only notice it after it's done it, so I can't go back and check the ad afterwards because they change.
