Can't get on AIBU?

I keep getting the message that was on yesterday when the site was down.

Same problem here. Can't get onto AIBU.

I also notice that the list of threads which appear under "Trending" in the top right hand corner of the desktop site also never changes once I am actually on the site. I can get into an AIBU thread if it does appear there, but cannot see the rest of the listings in AIBU.

Mobile site is also unusable and getting worse.

Advice would be appreciated. It is all very frustrating.

DawnMumsnet · 23/09/2015 22:21

Hmm, this is a strange one. And also hugely annoying! Sad

Can you please let us know which devices you're all using, which version of the site and if possible, which browser?

Once we've got a clearer picture we'll get our Tech team straight on the case.

In the meantime, we're really sorry for any inconvenience.

FarFromAnyRoad · 23/09/2015 22:21

STILL can't get on AIBU! Two days people! Shock Is there hope in sight?

MaltaVestrit · 23/09/2015 22:25

dawn my knowledge of what is what is sketchy - I'm on a pc, it has windows on it, I'm accessing the site through internet explorer via google. I don't know what version of the site, just the one that comes up on a google search....

FarFromAnyRoad · 23/09/2015 22:37

I'm on a desktop, Windows 8.1 and using Firefox. No idea what version of MN - the one with the bookmarks!

Ellle · 24/09/2015 01:10

I'm on a laptop, not sure what version of Mumsnet I'm using (I think it's not the classic, it's the one with pages on the threads), and my usual browser is Firefox.

My favourite topic where I spent most of my time was Primary Education, and that's the one I cannot access as I keep getting the message "Mumsnet is currently unavailable". If a thread from Primary Education is on Trending, and I click on it I can access it, but if I then try to click on Primary Education to see the rest of them I get the "unavailable" message.

When I open a different browser (Google Chrome) I have no problem and I'm able to access everything, including Primary Education.

MythicalKings · 24/09/2015 05:21

IE, desktop PC, Windows 8.1

IloveJudgeJudy · 24/09/2015 09:33

It's working on my Hudl, but not on my phone - Sony Experia M, Google.

alphabettyspaghetty · 24/09/2015 12:54

I thought i was being stupid... i'd cleared everything i could and i'm having the same issue.

I'm on IE, Desktop PC, windows 7

MythicalKings · 24/09/2015 15:22

Still waiting. Any progress on this?

BeccaMumsnet · 24/09/2015 15:43

Hi all - just to assure you, Tech are looking into this. Thanks so much for posting with your info.

MythicalKings · 24/09/2015 16:01

Thanks, Becca.

cashewnutty · 24/09/2015 18:05

I can't get on to AIBU either. On a Mac and using Safari.

rembrandtsrockchick · 24/09/2015 18:10

Samsung laptop. Firefox. Mobile site.

XanetiaOfTheDelphae · 24/09/2015 20:41

Another one here who can't get onto AIBU (haven't been able to get onto it at all this week). Using desktop PC, Chrome and not sure what version of MN (just the normal one I presume - haven't changed anything).

Carlywurly · 24/09/2015 21:19

Can't get on aibu using an iPad.
Please sort this out. It's debilitating I tell you.

FarFromAnyRoad · 25/09/2015 08:37

Have to reiterate what Carly says - it's been too long now - can we at least have an update? And preferably something a little less - errr - intellectually challenged - than 'Tech' is looking at it. Clearly 'Tech' is looking everywhere but at 'it'!
Yes, I'm getting scratchy. I can't visit the bits of MN that I want to visit.

stripytees · 25/09/2015 10:33

Just to say I'm having the same problem but with _Chat.

MaltaVestrit · 25/09/2015 11:01

yes an update would be good - I am sitting on a very wonderful AIBU thread about my MIL and I need to share it!! I am having AIBU withdrawl symptoms now!

DawnMumsnet · 25/09/2015 11:46

Hi all,

We're so sorry this issue is still hanging around for many of you - we know how frustrating this can be. Sad

Our Tech team still think this problem is cache-related. We know many of you have already said you've cleared your caches, but can you have one more try please?

There's info on how to clear your cache on different browsers here.

MaltaVestrit · 25/09/2015 11:55

ok, just done this via that link (very helpful, thanks) and mine is now working. I think I just deleted the history last time.

Thank you!

stripytees · 25/09/2015 12:06

I use Firefox for Android and have cleared cache again, still can't get on Chat. All the other forums I visit regularly work, including AIBU.

FarFromAnyRoad · 25/09/2015 12:33

I humbly retract my former snippy comment - I have cleared the cache and now it's fine but I did do exactly this the day before yesterday and it wasn't fine so Hmm - oh well, it's fixed now!

MythicalKings · 25/09/2015 13:11

I've done it countless times, still no joy. I click on "active" and get the old error message.

Just tried again ...

DawnMumsnet · 25/09/2015 14:43

Okay, so we have two happy (for now!) customers. Malta and FarFrom, we're glad things are working for you again. Smile

Mythical, are you still using the desktop site, Windows 8, IE? Don't suppose you want to give it a try on a different browser, do you, just to rule things out? It's just that FarFrom is also on the desktop site, Windows 8, but using Firefox (and everything's working, more or less!)

We appreciate this is all a complete faff, but we're just trying to pinpoint where the problems are arising so we can hopefully erase them.
