Shortly after I got a "you are on the list" email, my Tesco account got hacked; anyone else?

I've not had anything funny going on. I'm now thanking my lucky stars that I have an email address which is only for mumsnet and I use a password which is completely unlike my other passwords. I'm usually quite lax on the password issue and use a variant of the same password for nearly everything. I couldn't cope if every single thing had to have a unique password. Doesn't help that work email and blackberry passwords have to be changed every couple of months. maybe I should get a wee notebook like DoFlies mum...

Wee notebooks all round I say. My mum does the same. I suppose the older generation are more suspicious of that there Internet.

Turns out they may be right Savoy!

can someone who can get into their club card account tell me what info it shows. is it just address or dob too.

ToTheGups · 21/08/2015 23:57

My Tesco account is fine and I have the same email as here and a variation on the password.

I had an email from Tesco confirming my email address change. I hadn't done it so changed it back and changed my password. This was well over a month ago, maybe even two. Tesco couldn't find any strange activity and I still have all my clubcard points, so seems ok. I'm not on the list, so have assumed the two things aren't linked.

Accounts and emails have been being hacked all the time for years, weaselwords. It may be nothing to do with the current problems but it's good practice anyway to ensure proper password separation and to keep an eye on things regularly.

(And who knows what information is out there about you. Just because you weren't on that list doesn't mean that your email addresses or passwords aren't known somewhere. Just do your best.)

If you mean the Account Details, there are some fields there which have DOB.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 25/08/2015 19:09

My account was hacked on 1/8/15 and I realised a few days later that over £100 of vouchers had been used.
Tesco have refunded them all.
