They are totally different things.

We use them differently.

Lots of us have told you this, but there's been no response from you or the Tech team.

How on earth did you think that this was an improvement?

And why aren't you responding to us?

Ohhh - so it's not just me! I watch one or two when I am very involved or on long-running "support" threads on particular issues where an update might come every few days. I have e-mail notification for those so that I can pop over and comment.

Suddenly I am getting e-mails about all sorts of random threads. I went to my "watched list" and removed them all. This morning suddenly I'm watching a new thread. Stop it!!!

Please turn it off. I don't need more spam. Please.

I've honestly not complained about ANY of the changes made since I've been here. Not even the switch to MNnew. The changes made sense, even if I didn't like them myself but this is madness. Utter madness. There seems to be no sense to it whatsoever!

I could have understood if threads I bookmarked were put into my TIW. That would be an improvement. Not ideal it'd better than them not being listed anywhere at all.

The colour thing is just shit. Am another who finds the OP green very hard to read through and, in design terms, green has no place at all here.

yes what's with the green? it used to be purple and lilac which was noticeable but easy on the eyes. now this violent pea green!

TIO and watched threads are totally different.

I have just spent 20 mins going through my watched threads and deleting them. Time that I will never get back

The duplication of TIO with TIW is very annoying and pointless.

Please change it back.

'Trending' is also still horrible and inappropriate.

right i have just been to customise and you can untick boxes so that your threads don't get added to your watch list and so that you don't get emails.

i have done it and it seems to be working. plus the green has gone.

Just did the same and I see we have some colours to choose from again and at the end of the list is a tick box to tick/untick which posts we want to watch.

But the watch this thread box is still automatically ticked in the add message here so need to remember to untick that every time as it overrides!

Seeing as MNHQ chosen to make TIW a dumping ground anyway, will threads we bookmark be added there too? Would reduce masses of place marking posts as well as making the bookmark function complete.

I've been into customise and turned off the automatic TIW/TIO - so hopefully you speak the truth Becca when you say it's safe

... but I still don't get the linking of TIO to TIW. It really doesn't make sense
