What has happened to my colours?

ThisNameIsBetterThanMyRealOne · 06/08/2015 20:36

Please tell me this is some sort of glitch and my lovely op colour of pink and my own posts of purple will be back?

I need sunglasses to cope with that awful green and my posts are musky grey/pink (very 80's)

Will I get my colours back or is it staying like this?

OP posts:
diddl · 07/08/2015 07:34

Make the green stop!!!!

Atomik · 07/08/2015 07:45

oh so that's why suddenly a liquidised tree frog colour has invaded my screen.

I had a lovely blush pink/lillac colour before. I thought the aged iPad was playing up ... or something.

Atomik · 07/08/2015 07:58

oh no... customise no longer offers alternative colour schemes.

Liquidised tree frog eye assult FOREVER!

My posts are now in "depressed lillac, after it hit the bottle in its despair and added hangover to its woes"

Trending instead of active... then yukky enforced colours.

One more horrible change and Maryz will have to officially announce the the End of Days is upon us.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 07/08/2015 08:29

Honestly has no one realised now that change is BAD!

The status quo is a lovely warm familiar place.

mummytime · 07/08/2015 08:46

The Green is AWFUL it really hurts my eyes. The Murk isn't much better - it's too murky.

Are you trying to make us all use the Apps?

StandByYourTesselators · 07/08/2015 10:02

Acid green! Please Mumsnet, if you're going to impose a single colour policy, then at least make it a colour we can look at without frying our retinas.

RebeccaMumsnet · 07/08/2015 10:28

Hi all,

Many thanks for your feedback; we have very much heard you and apologies that you haven't liked the recent changes.

We are going to revert back to allow you to pick a colour and you will see the options to change colours of OP and own posts in the customise section shortly.

WRT TIO and TIW, by default you'll still automatically watch threads you post on and receive email notifications but you can turn it off in customise (which will be safe to go into once more - we PROMISE).

Apologies again for springing these changes on you, the last thing we want is to upset anyone. Most of the changes happen to simplify MN as the vast majority of traffic now comes from mobile or tablets and we are trying to streamline things to make them more accessible and easier to use all round. However, please do keep feeding back your thoughts and we will take a look.

MakeMeJumpIntoTheAir · 07/08/2015 10:39

Thank you!!! Mind you it has made me re-think my original choice of colour.

MoonlightandMusic · 07/08/2015 10:41

Thank you!

mrsmeerkat · 07/08/2015 10:41

I love a bit of green on the 17th of March but today.. nope

Atomik · 07/08/2015 11:34

Oh yay !

I am back to soft green for the OP and Lillac Blush for me.

Ta mucho.

See, this is why I like MN. On other forums it's been all..

TPTB: Spring Horrible Change

Maruding Hoard of BePitchForked Posters : Argg/Noooo/Blerggggg!

TPTB: Suck it up losers, we will only respond with corporate bollocks and basically ignore you.

MHBPFP: Boo! Whimper!

TBTB: More corporate words that say nothing, but imply "kiss my arse little people"

But on MN the HQsquad talk to you and everything. And roll back horrible change. Fast.

Just one suggestion. I think MNHQ can save a lot of time, energy, woman hours by utilizing the following "Horrible Change Protocol"

MNHQ1: Propose horrible change !

MNHQ: : Arggg! Noooo! Blergggg !

MNHQ2: Yeah you're right. Forget I mentioned it.

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 07/08/2015 12:52

Thanks Becca. Please could you just reassure us that you're not going to merge TIO and TIW? And then everything will be lovely.

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 07/08/2015 13:04

Why are you still insisting on TIW being opt out?

Surely OPT IN would be better, then you can always tell everyone how to use it, rather than forcing everyone who DOESNT want it to have to opt out?

diddl · 07/08/2015 13:30

Thank goodness.
Colour order restored!

SenecaFalls · 07/08/2015 14:12

Thank you, MNHQ!

vic1981 · 07/08/2015 19:56

Ta!

Lucked · 07/08/2015 21:41

Brilliant, thank you.

southeastastra · 07/08/2015 21:41

why is everything i post on being added to my watch list?
i'm very protective of my watch list

Furball · 08/08/2015 06:39

Thank you to MNHQ - Very much appreciated

NoArmaniNoPunani · 08/08/2015 06:45

Are the changes to Threads I'm on staying? Mine now shows the last 20 or so posts instead of the last few.

Atomik · 08/08/2015 07:31

Another one with a watch list gorn mad

Found this thread.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2441116-Heads-up-Improvements-to-watched-threads-coming

It would appear that it's another one of those "improvements" that would have benfitted from the Horrible Change Protocol being put into action before Tech was allowed to whack the code with their special spanners.

So far I have not had any emails. But my watch list is unwatchable cos it is muddled up with stuff I was on, not just watching.

Atomik · 08/08/2015 07:35

I think, but am not sure... if you uncheck the "watch this thread" (see picture) then Watch List Order might be restored.

But you have to uncheck every time you post.

I like the box. But think it should be unchecked as default and you opt in.

Just like I think email alerts to threads being posted on should be opt in.

What has happened to my colours?
Furball · 08/08/2015 08:03

I did that atomik and now my box is unchecked

Furball · 08/08/2015 08:05

I meant in Customize

at the bottom you can uncheck the boxes 'automatically blah blah threads I'm watching'

untick those and you should be ok Smile
