I don't get why people use the app. I use the mobile version on my phone occasionally but normally I use the desktop site on my iPad, which works just the same as it does on a laptop.

It's having to use Safari, SoupDragon. I may have some choice descriptors for the current app but I save my real invective for Safari.

The app has an exclusive attitude whilst still being comfortable and friendly, like sliding into a familiar pub or cafe, knowing where all the best seats are, knowing the wallpaper so well that you could recreate it in your sleep and knowing which toilet is best, knowing the barman and knowing that he's going to have your usual on the counter before you've reached it, understanding that some areas are a bit shouty and some are for games and giggles only, understanding that some regulars are there for company, some for support, but all for a chance to be with other people, including those who may not actually speak, but who listen intently and with intent, sometimes nodding in agreement, sometimes shaking their heads in fury or sadness, and also understanding that some parts are inaccessible at the moment !

I don't get that from Safari...

The only times I've ventured into the app I feel it looks more cumbersome than a small room stuffed full of less agile than normal elephants.
